So, I was talking with some of my friends yesterday, and I mentioned that I had a study hall during one of my periods. Then one of my friends tells me that colleges look down on study halls especially in grades besides Senior year. Last year, I thought I could take a study hall because I would be taking 4 AP's. Anyway, I didn't want to take AP Spanish (I'm nonnative and I know it would murder me) so I took a Study hall instead. This is my schedule:

AP Calc AB
AP Physics B
AP USH
AP Eng Lang
Art 1
Study Hall

Was this a bad decision? Should I switch back to AP Spanish?

Either take AP Spanish or another Spanish class (do you have Spanish 4 or 5? Or maybe a course in literature or cinema or something?). Most Ivies/Duke/Stanford/MIT/the usual really encourage 4 years of a foreign language.

Isn't it a little late in the year to switch into an AP class. Personally, I think you might have a lot of trouble trying to go back into it at this point (although you might be able to handle it). Maybe you could just keep your study hall for this year and take AP Spanish next year.

I think it's fine having Study Hall. Or you can just drop study hall and have a free period. Either way, having extra study time is never a bad thing, especially in junior year.

I don't know what I'd have done without a free period my junior year. I think that schedule stacking to such ridiculous amounts is ridiculous. You have 4 AP classes as it is. You deserve a break during your day for all that.

Not having a 4th year of a language will hurt you more than a study- it's not as if colleges see studies on your transcript.
But really, it is kind of late in the year.
Jump back in next year with either Spanish 4 or a conversational class or something.
