Does anyone have any experience with the scholars programs?
Which have the best opportunities/unique experiences?
Do they all have internships at the end?
Which ones have highest retention v. highest dropout?
Better to take something in related field to major (is there course overlap to make completion easier) or not?
Any info would be helpful....thanks

I just got into Scholars too, and I think I’m going to go into a program that fits with my major (i.e. engineering —> “science, tech, and society”?). I think that generally this would make it easier, and allow me to understand my major with better and different perspectives. But that’s just me…

And on a related note, I think it’d be better to get internships related to one’s field rather than getting on in arts, etc. while one’s major is engineering.

I have the same question. My major is finance and the only ones that make sense for me are business and leadership, because all the other ones have really weird required classes. With the business one, I wouldnt even have to take any classes cause I took the AP exams for three of the supplementary classes. Right now, Im just looking for people who have been in the programs to tell me what theyre like

Weird situation too. I’m an accounting major, and apparently its pretty much impossible to do both Freshmen Fellows and the Business Scholars program. I think I’m looking at media instead.

Also, does anyone know if it matters WHEN you apply? Kind of worried that I haven’t yet, but I’ve heard they decide who gets in by an essay we all write?
