College admissions are all coming back now and I have narrowed my choices down to two schools, UMass Amherst and McGill University. Both definitely have their perks, and drawbacks. Mcgill is much more prestigious of a school and I know I would get a good education there. Montreal is a gorgeous, fun city and I could meet lots of cool people. There are tons of international students and I would be exposed to people from all over the globe. Tuition is pretty cheap, but we'd still be paying a good chunk of cash ($25-30,000 a year??) Also since McGill is so big is sort of has everything. ON the other hand, UMass is VERY inexpensive for me because I live in MA and because of the financial aid i received. I'm in the honors program so I would get a good education there too, and it has much more of a traditional college feel. It's a cute college town and there are 4 other schools in the area so there would be lots of people to meet plus I can take classes at the other schools. I'm not sure how great the nightlife is, it sounds like LOTS of dorm parties, which might get boring after awhile. I do have a better chance of taking smaller class sizes at UMass also, which is nice. Both have pretty bad weather, especially McGill. So which should I choose??? I like both!!
