Which school do you think it's up-and-coming?

MTSU and UAB are some that aren't really becoming amazing, but they are getting alot better.

James Madison, and St. Mary's (MD)

I am definitely not biased... i am a junior who hasn't even selected each college!

I do believe that Miami has climbed tremendously in both rank and reputation and it will continue to do so.

Brandeis, MA

I think all top schools outside of the Ivies are becoming disporportionately more popular. Grinnell was mentioned, and they are a great example. Over the past three years, applications have tripled, the acceptance rate has been cut in half, and the student body stats have increased each year.

There are a lot of similar stories at other top LAC's and state universities.

Reed College in Oregon.

definitely uconn- 5 years ago anyone who had over a 3.0 gpa would get in. nowadays, people with a 3.5 are getting rejected.

You can bet on UC San Diego........its not even half as old as UC Berkeley and its already better than Cal in a few fields(like Bio-related fields)[though this is not to undermine the the status of berkeley as an undisputed leader in the segment of public institutions]and has as many Nobel Lauretes as faculty as Cal.
In the next 10-15 years(sooner?) UCSD is gonna be the second flagship university of the UC system..........GOOOOO TRITONS !!

Northeastern
UConn
Holy Cross
Bentley
American

I think people are definitely starting to notice Case Western.

And HeavenWood, do you promote Northeastern everywhere? Haha.

Fordham is also on the rise.

olin, tulane, grinnell

another vote for ucsd its rising

I know that Knox and Beloit has received record amount of applications last year, they have been getting each year more national recognition and steadily attracting more and more applicants. Lawrence has been harder to get in and more selective every year. I think those schools are very deserving more recognition since if they were located not in midwest their admission would be very very hard. Lake Forest College and Illinois Wesleyan are on upward trend as well.

Rochester, UCSD, UC Irvine, Northeastern, American, UConn, SUNY Stony Brook, University of Minnesota, George Washington, Brandeis, all universities on the rise.
Among liberal arts colleges, Lawrence, Grinnell, Bucknell, Macalester, Thomas Aquinas, Colorado are hot.

cornell too

I agree that the University of Georgia is on a fast and steady rise - soon to be among the ranks of Michigan and UVA.

i would say miami, american and especially tulane

hahaha, so clairesolo ur voting for ur present n ur soon-2-be colleges huh? ;)

I think some of the public institutions are really rising in quality (and price :/). Like Wisconsin, 'Bama, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Florida, Washington...
