I agree with edad's assessment of Bard College--soon, I imagine that it'll move into the top 15 LACs (if it submits data to USNews, hehe.) The president at Bard is amazing.

George Mason U- Not only because it made the final 4- but a solid public U outside of DC. Very nice campus- great internship possibilities and finally more OOS kids are giving it a 2nd look. School still has a "commuter" reputation, but I think that will soon be changing.
Nice campus- Reasonable tuition- & near DC. A winning combo-
For any political junkies- Hard Ball (chris mathews) will be at the GMU campus next week interviewing Robert DeNiro and Matt Damon about the new movie on the CIA.--

UTexas/Texas A & M - Provided that they get rid of the top 10% law

Agree Holy Cross seems to get more popular-maybe because it is one of the few top30 LAC's near a good city(Boston) and has good mix of academics/athletics. Also USC and Notre Dame-athletic success. Davidson-great LAC in the Sunbelt. UChicago-deserved ranking by US News.

I do believe that Occidental is beginning to get a lot of attention from the west coast...
