I know BU is more prestigious than Bentley, but in terms of quality of education which school is better for a finance major.

The all famous GB112 and GB212 courses at Bentley University will give you the knowledge to enter into an internship your freshman year through one of the top three career services in the country where you will be able to learn something other than how to make coffee for other people at your first internship.

Bentley is a smaller school with one of the top ten trading rooms in the country, accessible to you as long as you can walk up those smith stairs. Finance will be DRILLED into your mind. And, if finance is for you, you will enjoy every minute of it through your coursework.

Bentley is a relatively easy school to do alright in. Anyone can cruise through with a 3.0 GPA no problem. However, Bentley is a perfect example of a school that exemplifies the “you get what you put in” motto. If you join the investment club, study hard in your finance courses, and work with career services, you will far exceed the average starting salary that is shown on the college comparison websites.

Unfortunately, if you work hard in BU, you’re more likely to still be in the middle of the class. BU is full of a lot of IVY league rejects. You’ll gain a stronger well-rounded education even if you’re at the school of management. Then you will find yourself with that average starting salary on the BU website upon leaving (unless you didn’t have a social life all four years).

Be in an environment where its less rigorous and you can find your passion (whether it be finance or not) at a school that’s gaining a reputation like a wildfire (Yes Bentley’s undergrad Business reputation is creeping up on MIT’s Sloan, Check bloomberg). Or you can go to BU and learn about management and some basic finance your first semester while Bentley students are preparing for their first financial analyst internship, freshman year.
