Best school for finance?

Which school is best for majoring as an undergraduate in finance? Lehigh, Villanova, or Bentley

Take Bentley. Not that the other schools are bad choices, but Bentley started as a school for finance and accounting. They have more choices in courses and different financial concentrations than found at almost any other school. For example, they even have a financial planning masters and a program for certified financial analysts that qualify you to take the CFA or CFA exams respectively. Bentley also has a trading room that is unmatched by these other schools. You really need to see the trading room to understand its huge significance to financial training.

Also, it not only provides great training in finance but has strong liberal arts offerings. In fact, if you want to take courses at nearby Brandeis, you can use these courses to substitute for any liberal arts course.

With all the above said, I would visit each school. They each have their own culture. Bentley is a small school of less than 3,000 or so students. Both Lehigh and especially Villanova are much bigger. Bigger isn't necessarily better, especially for specialized programs, but you really do need to visit each school.

thanks for the help taxguy. ive seen the trading room on a campus tour and i was stunned when i first saw it

There is one other big benefit to Bentley. Many schools have controlled enrollment into business majors due to demand. Thus, you may have to achieve a certain GPA in order to get into their programs. I don't know if either Villanova or Lehigh have this problem, but it surely is worth checking out. With Bentley, once you are admitted, you are admitted into that major. You won't need to qualify other than the usual qualification of having some minimum GPA to stay in the school (usually it is 2.0).

thx ill def check that out
