Which school is right for me?

I'll be a senior this year, and I want to major in biology to go to a dental school.
I would love to get accepted into accelerated dental programs, but I don't think my
SAT score is high enough. Right now, I have 4.0 UW g.p.a., but our school pretty much
sucks, with only 2 AP classes offered. I had to study AP Biology, Chemistry, and Economics by myself to take the exams. I'm an international student, and my school has a weird rule against foreign students, so I couldn't take part in any of the sports team.
SAT score - 690CR 720M 630W
SAT subject tests - 720 Biology 730 Chemistry 790 Math IIC
EC
100~200 hours - church worship band (10,11,12)
School's worship leader (10,11,12)
NHS VP (12)
Class Officer (10)
Volunteer at a dentist's office..and etc. (nothing too exciting...I know..)

I'm looking at some of the accelerated dental programs at BU, NYU (high reach..), Case, Lehigh, and some other schools. If I don't get into those programs, I'm not sure
which schools will be good for me to get high gpas and stuff to prepare for dental schools.
SOMEBODY HELP ME!!

You should easily get into NYU and BU… Johns Hopkins adcoms are very lenient when it comes to “lower” SAT scores. I think you can get into NYU, Hopkins, BU, Duke, and maybe even Brown’s PLME. Just apply.

jyhan,
I don’t have experience with accelerated dental programs, but I am familiar with Multiple degree Med programs and Med school as my D is premed and she considered applying to BA/MD programs. If the accelerated dental programs are anything like the Med programs, they’re extremely selective and besides top grades, difficult coursework and high test scores, they will especially be looking for experience in the dental field (eg. shadowing, summer programs, etc.) as they only want people who know what dentistry is all about and won’t drop out part way through the program.

As far as regular 4 yr schools to take your prerequsites, for Med at least, the answer is: the school where you will be the happiest and do your best. Please see the sticky thread at the top of the Pre-Med Topics subforum for valuable information on how to select an UG school.

I disagree with Lobzz. Brown PLME is very competitive – one would need top scores to be accepted into that program. Duke would be a reach as well (again, low scores).

Duke, Tufts, Holy Cross.
