A lot of schools are really, really stingy with their arts supplements, so I was wondering...what schools actually accept creative writing supplements as part of their arts supplement? I know Princeton and Brown do, but I'm not sure of any others -- I'm guessing some LACs like Kenyon and stuff probably do, too?

Anyone know?

I would like to know this too! Also, is this is contingent on the school actually having a creative writing major/department? Because I know that Brown does not have undergraduate creative writing…

Many places will accept a creative writing sample (a short one!) even if they don’t provide for that option on their arts supplement (i.e. most schools use the Common App supplement, which doesn’t have a writing portfolio option). I’m applying to a few LACs that are in this category, but the admissions departments at all three said they would welcome my portfolio anyway. So probably you should ask each college individually, because I’m sure there are some that wouldn’t be as gung-ho about it.

Bump this topic… I’m interested.

A few “top” schools that take supplements:
Brown
Princeton
Columbia University
University of Southern California
University of Chicago

Brandeis University (MA) and Northwestern University also have very prestigious creative writing departments.

Tufts University has a cool creative writing supplement!!
