Which score distribution would YOU rather have?

I'm curious as to how most of you would respond if you were given the choice between these four scores:

(A) 740 CR / 800 M / 800 W = 2340
(B) 800 CR / 740 M / 800 W = 2340
(C) 800 CR / 800 M / 740 W = 2340
(D) 780 CR / 780 M / 780 W = 2340

Please rank!

c

d

a

b

1 c
2 d
3 b
4 a

Yep, C, D, B, A. M+V is more important than writing. Verbal is more important than math, usually.

Of course I get an 800 in the section that matters least :)

C, D, B, A - I wish my reading could be that high!

And 112358, I know exactly know you feel :(

C, B, D, A.

C is certainly first because CR + M is extremely important; writing less so.
I put B next because it’s somewhat realistic for me and also it shows where your strengths lie (not math!), which is good if the rest of your application follows that trend.

And I also got an 800 on writing… damn! I almost feel like my perfect score in that section is worthless lol.

Heh, my score most nearly matches B and I need to show colleges than my strengths DO lie in math (probable engineering applicant) =/

Even though W is the least important score, supposedly studies are saying it’s the best predictor of college success, so at least we know that even if our 800s don’t mean much to colleges, we have a good chance of being successful :)

Hooray! Now if only I could show the higher-ups at all these colleges that my 800 WR > the other guy’s 800 in CR and M!

But no; this will not happen, sadly.

My score almost exactly matches A with a 740 CR and near perfect in the other two. I really wish I could move points from WR to CR!!!

CDBA

Since a lot of schools are still only looking at math and critical reading, it makes a lot of sense to want a perfect 1600. When it comes down to the last few choices, I’d rather do better on critical reading and writing. Math is the “easiest” to study for because it’s concrete; I’d rather be seen as “good” at something. (Of course, all sections can and are studied for, I’m just saying, comparatively speaking…)
