Hey! I ended up taking both the SAT and the ACT after being recommended to do so by a SAT instructor. However, I can't decided which score(s) I should use. Would sending both scores jeopardize my chances of getting in (although I know college admissions are unpredictable)? Thanks!

I think that my SAT is higher on the conversion chart. However, when I look at the scores accepted by colleges, my ACT score fits the middle 50% of more colleges than my SAT does, especially when it comes to the section breakdown.

Both are great, but I’d send the ACT over the SAT. I was in a similar situation as you. These were my scores (and, just warning you, they’re not gasp great for College Confidential, but given that I never took an AP class, I was alright with them):

ACT - 29
English - 32
Math - 27
Reading - 31
Science - 26
Essay - 8

I ended up sending only my ACT, which was higher than the equivalent of the M+CR section of the SAT, but lower than all 3 of the SAT sections combined. And I did very well with my college acceptances. I hope that made sense.

1) My parents are really against me retaking tests for some reason, and it didn’t help that I got the same ACT composite score the second time I took it.
2) I haven’t touched anything to do with the SAT I since I took it in January, so I’m afraid my reading & essay scores would suffer.
