Which score should I send?

Hey! I ended up taking both the SAT and the ACT after being recommended to do so by a SAT instructor. However, I can't decided which score(s) I should use. Would sending both scores jeopardize my chances of getting in (although I know college admissions are unpredictable)? Thanks!

SAT I- 2210 (1420...)
Math-720 (sad..)
CR-700
Writing-790 (80 mc)
Essay-9

ACT-33 (first try)
Math-36
CR-32
Writing-34
Science-28 (for some reason I find this section very difficult)
Essay-8 (not my strong suit)

ACT-33 (second try..)
Math-35
CR-32
Writing-35
Science-30
Essay-8

I know my scores aren't that bad, but I just don't want regret sending/not sending a certain score.
:) all suggestions welcome. thanks!

Act…its obvious. look at the conversion chart.

^His SAT is higher though. 33 = 2180 or so.

I think that my SAT is higher on the conversion chart. However, when I look at the scores accepted by colleges, my ACT score fits the middle 50% of more colleges than my SAT does, especially when it comes to the section breakdown.

(i’m a girl btw xD)

[SAT-ACT Concordance Tables](http://professionals.collegeboard.com/data-reports-research/sat/sat-act)

Both are great, but I’d send the ACT over the SAT. I was in a similar situation as you. These were my scores (and, just warning you, they’re not gasp great for College Confidential, but given that I never took an AP class, I was alright with them):

SAT 1 - 1950 (1260)
CR - 590
Math - 670
Writing - 690 (69 mc)
Essay - 9

ACT - 29
English - 32
Math - 27
Reading - 31
Science - 26
Essay - 8

I ended up sending only my ACT, which was higher than the equivalent of the M+CR section of the SAT, but lower than all 3 of the SAT sections combined. And I did very well with my college acceptances. I hope that made sense.

Thanks! Yeah, the whole 1600 conversion was my main concern.

Why don’t you retake the SAT? Since you can probably do better in Math…

I was considering that, except:

1) My parents are really against me retaking tests for some reason, and it didn’t help that I got the same ACT composite score the second time I took it.
2) I haven’t touched anything to do with the SAT I since I took it in January, so I’m afraid my reading & essay scores would suffer.

cj…act conversion is based off 1600. its the official way to do it from college board.

so you’re wrong and on top of that his highest section is writing…which colleges dont weigh too much on(which doesnt look good)

there’s a concordance table for either the new or old sat.

The value of the writing depends on the college. If the college doesn’t even look at it, obviously the ACt would be a better choice.
