I took ACT twice this year. Both composite scores are 35.
1st ACT: Math 35 Science 34 English 36 Reading 35
2nd ACT: Math 36 Science 35 English 36 Reading 33
I’ll major in engineering or math/CS. Which ACT test may work better for my college application?
My SAT scores are: Math 770 Reading 760 Writing 770. Should I send them too? My counselor told me my ACT 35 is better than SAT 2300. However, I know many students with ACT 35 but not many with SAT 2300+.
My SAT subject tests in bio, chem, and physics are all in the lower 700s (low percentiles, I know), with Math II in 800. Should I retake the subject tests in sciences?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Depends on what college you’re applying to, but honestly I would just stop taking tests. Send all your scores and be done. No admissions officer is going to deny you solely on a point here or there on a test.
@BabylonBabylon: Thanks for reply. I plan to apply to 3 reach schools with admission rates under 20%. Two of them require SAT subject tests. I think the admission for engineering school is more competitive in these universities. I know that I can send all my SAT scores at $11.25. Not sure if I request sending my 2 sets of ACT scores I’ll be charged twice. I’m not scores-obsessed. I took ACT twice and the other tests once. I didn’t have time to prepare for the subject tests and I know I can do better with minimum preparation. My percentiles in the science subjects are mediocre at most. Will my ACT science score make it up? I also want to enhance my qualifications for merit scholarships if available.
