I’m currently a junior in my last year of high school and deciding what colleges I want to apply to and what states I am want to live in. Note that I haven’t taken the ACT yet, but I will in the end of April, hopefully again in the summer, and in the beginning of my senior year. I want to major in Computer science or Arch. (indecisive, I am) with a minor in a foreign language. I don’t know if I should apply to schools that are in CA especially or Florida especially. I want to move out of state, for sure, I live in Alabama and Fl would be closer, but it’s unemployment rates are high and are there even enough job positions for developers/programmers there? While California, there are job positions for Software developers/programmers.
What I’m asking is that what if I change my mind and change to a major that makes less, like just major in Spanish, what would I be better of choosing then? Do I need to think about moving across the country when I might just change a major that might not earn me as much? Is the hassle worth it?
def. california. there are more options and have better schools overall
Florida sucks. It is way too humid, and the weather is only nice in the winter. The time when we are invaded by the North, who go back home and lie about how amazing Florida is.
Run the Net Price Calculators at the websites of several universities in each state, and talk the results over with your parents. CA may be way out of your budget.
