Which Summer Classes Should I Take?

I'll be heading off to U. Nebraska next year on major in Economics, but prior to that I'm interested in taking some classes at the local university.

Classes I have to take freshman year at Nebraska:
Business Computer Applications
Calculus
Basic Business Communication
English Composition
*electives

I'm considering taking Calculus at the local university because I don't excel at math, and by taking it over the summer, I'll be able to better focus on math, while if I happen to get a C in the class, it won't matter because it's transfer credit.

I could also take a different class(es) such as English and/or Business Computer Applications. Those two classes are ones I find that I wouldn't have a problem with, and shouldn't have a problem managing both.

What class do you think I should take?

Thanks,
Kinglin

colleges usually don't accept transfer credit from math courses taken in a summer term such as calculus. you should check with u of nebraska and see which classes do transfer.

I was told that as long as it was from an accredited university, that it would transfer. If I took it at the local cc, then it wouldn't.

None of us can say for sure. Schools differ with regard to accepting credits from other schools. If you are taking the class at a cc with an agreement with Nebraska, you are probably safe. However, many students are shocked to find that classes taken at other schools are NOT accepted at the school they enroll in. Don't assume anything.

you know what, don't take any classes. it's just gonna get confusing. if u want, take summer classes after your freshman year. no one ever really takes summer classes before their freshman year that i know of.

I've already talked to Nebraska about what classes they will accept. I was happy to find out that they would accept either of the three classes mentioned. Now it's all a matter of which would benefit me the most.
