Which teacher for LOR?

Teacher 1: I had this teacher for Chemistry (10th), AP Chem (11th), and now AP Physics (12th). I don’t think we “clicked” that much. We talk casually about politics sometimes (a topic I enjoy, and with the conversations we had, I think he does as well). Our school is pretty small, and we had 3 students in AP Chem. It was a very personalized classroom as we could ask him whatever we wanted at any time. The only things he could probably write about me are my determination in the classroom and my love of learning…

Teacher 2: This teacher just moved in from an international school in Taiwan, and has experience as a college counselor. She sent a number of kids off to Harvard, Yale, and other top schools. She teaches AP Lit. I only got to know her over the last few weeks. I speak out often during group discussions and I seem to get some positive feedback. We don’t really talk one on one and stuff though. She’s my go-to teacher for essay reads and critiques. Also, her LOR might have that flair, as she is an English teacher.

I’ve already asked my Chem teacher to write my LOR, but I think he forgot about it… will have to remind him again. I haven’t asked my English teacher yet.

I’m really close with my APUSH / AP Gov teacher so that recommendation will be pretty solid, so I’m looking for the best recommendation out of two teachers that I’m not very close with.

She did not send kids to Harvard, Yale, etc; the students did that with their own achievements.

Go with teacher #1 who knows you better. Colleges know that some teachers (like English teachers) have a better flair for writing than others (like STEM teachers). Colleges will not base their decision on the flowery prose of a rec.
