Hi. I’ve taken both tests and I have the option of sending both, or only the scores of one of the tests to this college I am applying to. On the SAT, I got a 1490 after 3 tries (1450 1st time, 1440 2nd time, 1490 third time). On the ACT, I got a 34 (35W, 35M, 32R, 35S) on my 1st try. Should I send both?? Thanks. Btw, this is for Colgate University!
First of all, those are great scores! Congratulations!
Secondly, most schools will take the higher for each subject.
So if you scored highest on all subjects for the SAT on your most recent test, send that one. If not, send the two sets of test scores that have the highest combination.
So take the ACT for example…
If you were to take it again and get a 36W 34M 33R 32S
They would take the writing from the second test, the math from the first, the reading from the second and science from the first.
The combined scores would be : 36W 35M 33R 35S
Does that make sense?
The 34 would be considered higher than the 1490. Both are strong scores for Colgate
