Right now, I am signed up for US History and Math 2. But after taking a practice test last night, I did rather terribly on math 2 (640 =( ). Since I was disgusted with my score, I took one of the official Math 1 practice tests and did really well (around 750). The schools I am applying to are high in the rankings and all recommend subject tests, but do not require them. Which math should I take?

I am in an incredibly similar position! The only difference is that I am taking chem instead of US history. As of now, I think I'll take math one, just because the scaled score and percentile are so much better. However, I am not sure whether math one would be regarded less by the colleges you mentioned or not. Anyone have any comments on this?

Take all three?

I'm afraid if I take all three, it would make me seem too specialized in math. I really only want to take one math test...so?

I'd suggest you take all three and cancel one math test if you can and want to later ...

^

i dont think you can cancel just one test. you have to cancel all the tests you take on one day, unless you have a calculator malfunction

yeah, chaseutley is correct.

So, what should I do?????????

can you just do two tests then
?

Yes, I will take two tests...but which math should I take (see above)?

Duh, Math 1.

Don't take Math IIc.

Why was it hard?

OUTRAGEOUSly hard. Not to sound cocky, but I'm really good at math, yet screwed up 3 questions. People at my center skipped ~10 questions. And the general consensus was that the test was much much much harder than any Barron's practice test.

screwed up just 3 questions...?? nice.. though even I agree that MathIIC was pretty hard.. I just hope that the curve will be lenient this time...

MathIc was easy though.. left just 1 question..

How low do you think the 800 curve could go rashi ?
