Which UCSC college should I pick?

Here is a little about me…

  1. A transfer student
  2. Prefer my own room with shared kitchen, bathroom, etc (prefer apartment)
  3. Do not really want to be in a party area. NEED TO STUDY FOR MCAT!
  4. Not very athletic/not passionate about sports
  5. I love the outdoors
  6. I prefer to cycle to class, so prefer not to be driving distance from Physical Science classes.

A top three would help

My first guess would be Kresge, those are the only apartment like housings

I’m pretty sure all transfer students are housed in dorm rooms at Porter, although their collegiate affiliations are different. That is, as a transfer the only thing your college signifies is what academic counselor you’ll have (for things like taking a leave of absence, academic probation, etc.), what student government meetings you’ll attend (if you choose to be a part of one), and what graduation ceremony you’ll attend (there are separate ceremonies for each college).

You might consider applying to 9 and 10 and then the International Living Center, if that’s an option for you as a transfer student (I don’t know if it is). The ILC is in the forest, reasonably close to Science and Engineering, and apartment style.
