Which university should I choose, in terms of seeking better education?

I’ve applied to a number of universities and the results are as follows:

  • Accepted / Unconditional:
CMU - Electrical and Computer Engineering
    UCLA - Maths
U Edinburgh - Computer Science and Electronics
  • Wait-listed / Conditional:
    UCBerkeley - Maths
    Imperial - Computing
U Manchester - Human Computer Interaction
    UCL - Mathematical Computation
  • Waiting:
Cornell - ECE (<-- Please assume that I’ll enter.)
Tsing Hua - Material Science (<-- Something my grandpa wish I could do before he passed away last month - not my genuine interest)
  • (Rejected by MIT, Stanford and Cambridge.)
I love maths, computer science and electrical engineering equally but, as a choice of career, I will transfer to computer engineering, eventually. UK has the advantage of 1 less year of studying and I believe I’m okay with sort of skipping a year.
Well, I’m FRUSTRATED by the electronics/software industries in Hong Kong and what I want is only good education - anything else doesn’t matter that much. I’ll work in the US and UK after graduation and return to HK after that - and try bring some useful experience back to my birthplace.
Anyway, I’m seeking advice from the experienced community of Quora and know more about each course listed above. I wish I could view them in a holistic approach and take both academics and college experience into account. (after all, I applied to Stanford for her atmosphere and community and stuff.)
    Thank you in advance!

I don’t know how you can go wrong at CMU. It’s one of the best Engineering schools in the country, and Pittsburgh is a great city with a lot to offer.
