Which university would be the best choice for an intended Biology major? CNU or JMU?

I'm planning on majoring in biology as a pre-med, then going to medical school. As far as statistics go, I got a 26 on my ACT, I have a 3.87 GPA, and I'm in the top 10.8% of my class.

Between Christopher Newport University and James Madison University, which would be the better choice?

Definitely James Madison university overall its a much better school

I agree. I think that JMU would be better; they have a brand new science building which looks really fantastic and is supposed to be state of the art. Also, smaller schools like CNU tend to have less well developed science programs, so you will in a likelihood have fewer opportunities.

Plus CNU is a dry campus so you can’t get your drunk on. (:

No doubt, JMU has a solid program but I wouldn’t discount CNU. CNU has a brand new science building as well and over the last 3 years, 80% of CNU med school applicants were accepted to med school. There should be a way to find out the acceptance numbers and MCAT averages for both schools. I would not rule out CNU based on size – there are many top notch schools that have small student populations (17,000 students @ JMU and 4800 @ CNU) Additionally, CNU does not use TA’s, which is a huge plus.
