the index of the book is no longer available on amazon((((( now i have no idea which volume to order(( damn(

I used both volumes. I can't believe how many hits there were on the Sunday test. Not too many took the test but we are trying hard to remember as much as we can.

Barron's Hot Words: 396 words - 11 Hits = 36 words per hit

ive never studied vocab before but this was so great, almost impeccable. i barely had to study past the two main lists

Dark Knight, how do you think that PR Hit Parade + Direct Hits would fair?
Also, do you have a post containing all the SAT Words (ie. Jan 2007, Oct 2007, March 2008, etc)

Thank you :)

^Direct Hits + PR is good. However, Direct Hits + Rocket Review Core Words is performing better. Sorry but I did not do posts for the Jan 07, Oct 07 and March 08 SATs. January 07 and Oct 07 were released tests thru Q and A. Maybe you can find someone who has copies of these tests.

I did RocketReview and Direct Hits, nd luckily, I didn't get stuck! RR is better than PR deffo, but as DK said, combine these 3!

Word Smart: 1505 words: 16 hits = 94 words per hit
I memorized whole book and I think I got every sentence completion right

A no brainer: DH + PP + RR = 500 words and 16 Hits! Why memorize 1500 words when you can get the same results by learning 500 words.

dark night, how do you recommend memorizing the words from rocket review and princeton hit parade? flashcards? some other way? I just don't get how people memorizes these long lists like gruber's and barron's...

try Flashcards, vocabulary memorization, and studying games | Quizlet
someone already made RR and PR vocab lists there....

thanks for the tip flibb! :)

I have little time. Is direct hits(1+2) all I need to ace the sectence completetions or should I use RR. I have little time before the SAT. I ace at everything but vocab. Since I have little time which book should I use (I can only choose one)?

I used both to get ready for the December SAT and found when I took the test that Direct Hits was a bigger help. I aced the sentence completions!

After using DH, how many sentence completions did you usually miss? Was it a really big improvement?

I'm missing around 4 each time. Will using DH help me reduce that to like 1-2?

I used the DH books to prepare for the 08 PSAT. I went from missing 6 last year to missing 3 this year and raised my score from 56 to 65. I just got the booklet and of the 5 hard sentence completions 3 answers were Direct Hits words and the other 2 had DH words as answer choices so I could figure out the right answer.

On the Dec. SAT I didn't miss any sentence completions and I also knew vocabulary words that were in the reading passages. My score went up to 700 and I am working really hard to raise it even more in January. I don't know if DH will help you get all of the SCs correct but I would not have gotten toady right on the December SAT if I had not studied Direct Hits. The example in the book really helped me understand what it meant.

What other books did you use to prepare for the critical reading?

Juste memorize the DH and start doing practice tests from the BB.Memorize each word you don`t know .Thats it

Thanks, I'm just getting started with all this.

Thanks, I'm just getting started with all this.

Oops, sorry about the double post. As I said I am just getting started with all of this.
