Which way is better?

Hi. Another high school sophomore here.
I'm studying outside US (in a local school in British curriculum - sigh) right now, and i want to study engineering in US (probably electrical or nuclear). I do aim for the top-20 engin. schools, so i'm wondering whether I should put my full energy on books to get a few national awards or work on better ECs in the next 2 yrs.

F.5 in British curriculum
- top 10% in the form (class)
- taking CE Exam in April (difficulty >AP for maths, slightly under AP for other subjects)
- SAT I: 2000 (maths 750)
- taking AP Cal BC and 2 Physics Cs, 5s for sure

ECs
- student council sub-committee, organized a few school and joint-school activities
- OC in a joint-school cultural project
- "best performer in ECA" award in school
- prizes in regional Maths Olympiad (most are 2nd honor)
- runner-ups in inter-school calligraphy competitions
- Member of Hong Kong Academy of Gifted Students (academic selective)
- have been committees (incl. chairman) for many school clubs
- taken part in a Junior Scientist Program by local universities (academic selective)
- participant of Sino-Japan Youth Conference 2009
(the only activity that can related to the term "international" =[ )
- Red Cross Youth, volunteer for >200 hrs per year (certs received)

As an international student I'm almost desperate after reading the threads by ppl with SAT 2300 or 10 AP 5s. So what should I do in my next 2(.5) years? Thanks!

Colleges
UC - Berkeley
UMich
Georgia Tech
Texas A&M
should i reach other schools?

I’ll chance back !!
