Well we have three days left, and instead of thinking about Columbia decisions, why not think about Columbia itself? So, what is your most favorite and least favorite part about Columbia University? I'll start:

Most: The access Columbia gives you to New York City. Not just proximity, but discounted tickets, restaurant week, preference in internships, free entrance to many museums and so much more. It expands the learning environment to the best city in the world.

Least: People say that there's a lacking sense of community (but I believe that depends on the people. The College Confidential Columbia Community (CCCC haha) is certainly not lacking).

Most: As nebbalish said, the libraries. Also the dorms and dining halls - I like the old wood look. Oh, and the physics department. And, of course, the CCCCC :)

Most: New York, John Jay singles, and Alexander Hamilton.
Least: High cost of living in Manhattan, even with student discounts. Moving in/out will be awful.

I’m looking forward to the Core, but I don’t think I’ll have a verdict on it until I experience it…

this is off topic, but imagine us at Columbia next year, studying together in the Butler library, remembering how we “knew” each other on CC and now were bff.

I will be there in spirit…regardless of my decision.

It really irks me that SOMEBODY on this forum will get in. Like, most likely not me (but I’m pretty sure everybody is thinking it can’t be them), but probability states that there has to be acceptances on this forum. I’m going to be hella jealous of the amazing people who will be getting in :)

Most: Alexander Hamilton (I rly want to visit his tomb), NYC, World Leaders Forum, internship at UN.
Least: The lack of college spirit, from what I heard from a current student. The fact that there are so few students from my country and most of them do not make many friends there.

Most: The campus is amazing; I visited this summer and love how compact it is. My interviewer said he could wake up at 9:50 and get to his 10:00 clock without a problem. The large amount of financial aid I would receive is really nice too. And of course, the libraries. I love books and the libraries just seem amazing.

Least: It is a bit far from home, around five hours. But my brother goes to NYU so it shouldn’t be too bad. And while being in NY is a really good thing, the expenses for eating out/going out will probably be pretty expensive.
