God I can't fall asleep...so what better to do at 1:12 am ( here) than post on cc. I think the nerd appeal, as I shall now call it, is more appreciated by girls than by guys. I think guys aren't really attracted by nerdiness, but I DO think intelligence is important to us. Personally I love a smart girl, but I would want her to look/act nerdy. wierd.

vegangirl - yeah, I spent all of last year with a crush on a a nerdy guy who didn't like me at all and it was pretty much a bad experience and I was quite obsessed...

and yeah, I'm sure Card was a Mormon, or he wouldn't have written allegorically about them.

what's the difference between a nerd and a geek?

wow, this thread has been quite comforting to me. Thanks everyone.

according to wikipedia (source of all information useless), geeks are usually the ones with a large amount of knowledge about a certain, often unusual subject (star wars, video games, etc.), while nerds are more of the intelligent social-oddballs. There's apparently a lot of debate, though, on the true distinctions. :)

I love this thread. i also love extremely smart guys. (i think they are so sexy!!!) but then again, my bf is valedictorian and won the senior superlative for hottest male. so, i guess he may be an exception.

Where are all of you nerd-lovers at my school, darn it!

and where are all you nerds at MY school?

being smart and a nerd are different. You can be smart smart without being a nerd.

In my view nerds are antisocial :D
honestly, some if not all of the nerds are in their own boxes. They are shy, silent, and dont become friends with others that are not nerds.

hey all you..CHRISTMAS is tomorrow..or whatever holiday you choose to celebrate hehe...i thought you should be alerted of this information..IMMEDIATELY. I will leave my folks on this note:::J'adore le fromage!
