White House Internship- Summer 2017

If it helps, all the other people I know who applied through my school and elsewhere (they are not members of this site) have not heard anything, and many of them applied right before the deadline.

202-456-1414 is the number for the White House Switchboard that can then direct your calls accordingly.

Figured Id put my info out here… Applied on March 30th but have not heard anything yet. After reading about all of you getting interviews so quickly, I am actually getting pretty nervous now.

Also, Anyone else think it’s strange that they were interviewing people before the application deadline? Unless they are going to interview every applicant, which seems hard to do. Confused by the process so far.

I turned in my application on the 24th. Havent gotten a call or an email. Has anyone gotten an email saying they were denied at all?

I submitted my app around then, too. No decisions are supposed to be out until late April.

Oh ok! Well good luck to all! Hopefully some of us will start getting emails or phone calls as its been a week since applications were due.

I don’t think they send denial emails, right? To be honest I hope they do but I don’t know

Has anybody new heard anything?

I have not. Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for sometime this week, but also starting to prepare myself for the worst.

Did anyone try calling/getting in touch?

if I don’t hear anything I plan to try calling later this week. Have any of the people you knew that applied heard back yet @dannyo95 ?

Nothing from anyone. Thanks for calling in advance!

Submitted my application on the 27th. Haven’t heard anything.

@Conn9514 if you call, let us know what they say

No one’s heard anything, right?

Haven’t heard anything

Hi everyone, I thought I’d mention my own experience thus far:
I submitted my application on March 16th, received an email for an interview on March 24th, and interviewed on March 31st.
As per the interview, the general staffer informed me the next step(s) in the process include a potential interview with an individual department if any departments you were interested in have any qualifying questions (you do not need one of these additional interviews to be offered an internship) and to be sent Departmental Review forms that you must fill out as a sort-of background check.
My friend also applied on the day of the deadline (March 31st) and has not heard anything yet.
Out of my anxiety, I spent a lot of time researching the process and time-frames of previous internship sessions, but I will add that it is important to remember that this is a new administration, so things are likely to be different.
However, I think anyone who has not heard anything back yet should not give up! It is only April 12th - there’s still almost 3 weeks left of the month! Stay positive!

Have not heard anything yet. Anybody planning to try and contact the White House?

@eed1418 For the DR forms, are those only for accepted interns? That’s what my interviewer made it sound.
