p.s. i sacrificed applying to another internship because i wanted to wait to hear back from this one on the 20th. my advisor was going to write a recommendation for me if i didn’t get this internship, but she was going to wait to see if i got this first (because if i did then i wouldn’t apply to the other internship)…too bad the internship deadline is tomorrow and i can’t apply to it in time and i don’t even know what’s going on with this one…■■■

hahaha… omg you guys… this thread just gets better and better - personally I think the Bonnie Tyler version is classic and will not be missed at applefan!

I danced it out yesterday. It’s so much fun… even if it was by myself. I could make a silly 80s reference to “dancin’ with myself” butttttttt I think I’ll stop now while I’m ahead?

Oh and I vote for all of those potential intern reality shows.

Honestly, I do not think they’ll make us wait any longer and if they do… heads will roll!

wait… that didn’t make sense… lol the waiting is driving my writing/speaking ability down the drain… I meant @applefan for the reference and that it would be missed if not included…ugh they’re going to tell us soon right? hopes

George… funny you mention that. It did cross my mind - let me take advantage of your good thinking and my lack of judgement.

In relation to “heads will roll” - to those who may or may not be interested in my worthiness of an internship or a position in the government for the next 30 years, I do not have any plan or idea to inflict harm of any kind on any person or entity related to the intern committee members of the body that they work for and under. Furthermore, I only wish them well and a lovely night of slumber on the eve of reckoning day.

Thank you very much!

Sincerely,
A Huge Fan and Peace-loving Intern-Hopeful

You’re so right, George… sheeeeesh… just as I was about to recommend “Hot n’ Cold” - Katy Perry as the official song of the internship process… guess I better rescind… :p

can i just say how this reminds me of waiting for college acceptances? i feel like the most important decision of my life (which it prob is) is going to be made tomorrow (hopefully) and i can’t wait to find out. i have three classes tomorrow and i won’t finish until 2, but you can bet that in between every single class, i’ll be checking my email (or running to the library if i forget my laptop )

and now i think i should write my paper (and stop using so many parenthesis)

kalasaurus,
i don’t know, real world sounds like it would capture the "soap opera"ness of all of the waiting, and the hopefully interning experience.

then again, we could do making the internship, and instead of diddy, we would have obama =)

George…ha! if only we would have such ambitious and action-packed assignments. maybe instead we would have to go into d.c. and find the perfect shade of tie for the president’s next suit or the perfect stuffed animal for his daughters! that would be staying true to making the internship style

and it would be a very sad day if unpaid interns were fired

has anyone talked to someone who has done this internship before? i’m guessing that it won’t be completely secretarial work or coping papers, but it won’t be as action packed as we would like??

a guy that used to go to my school interned for George Bush…he has since graduated and I am trying to get a hold of him…maybe, after tomorrow, there will still be a reason for me to contact him, lol

the guy from my school that interned for Bush actually got some good close up time with Bush. He had tons of pictures with him strolling outside the Oval Office, it was pretty neat

yeah, but what did he actually do? delivering papers to pres. obama may give you a chance to see him but it isn’t exactly the most empowering job.
