White House Internship

So far, the offices we know had interviews:

The Office of Presidential Correspondance
The Office of Communications
The Office of the Vice President
The Office of Cabinet Affairs.

damnn. if you got those, i bet you’re in.

I got an interview with the communications department/office of health care reform…

So we got:

The Office of Presidential Correspondence
The Office of Communications
The Office of the Vice President
The Office of Cabinet Affairs
The Office of Health Care Reform

Anyone hear from the Chief of Staff’s office?

Thats a lot of departments not doing interviews thus far. I too would really like to know about the Chief of Staff’s office.

chief of staff was my first choice. in retrospect not such a good idea…

chief of staff was my first choice too…

But there must be other departments doing interviews. Domestic Policy Council anyone? Legal Counsel?

Again, we heard from:
The Office of Presidential Correspondence (vivalamusica)
The Office of Communications (apatel1)
The Office of the Vice President (bellers)
The Office of Cabinet Affairs (bellers)
The Office of Health Care Reform (apatel1)

Please add to the list, if you’ve received a call or email from any other office.

White House says tomorrow! You can call the switchboard. (But who knows…)

I had interviews with presidential personnel and schd./advance!!! I think they all interview…

Fedora, who did you hear tomorrow from? I called and they gave me the canned response of “this week.” Regardless, we are going to have to hear by Friday, unless they push it back again.

The Office of Presidential Correspondence (vivalamusica)
The Office of Communications (apatel1)
The Office of the Vice President (bellers)
The Office of Cabinet Affairs (bellers)
The Office of Health Care Reform (apatel1)
The Office of Presidential Personnel (belmont1)
The Office of Scheduling and Advance (belmont1)

So far

thanks for the info fedora! I’m actually going to call before 5pm to see what response I get…

vivalamusic: the fact that you got an interview as a rising sophomore defintely means your on the right track. Good luck to you!

Could depend who picks up, I guess, if anyone. Sometimes the answering machine answers. Either way they may be avoiding Friday, cutting what has already dragged out a little too close. We’ll see!

i got the machine guys: automatic response saying they would tell us the week of July 12. I think a lot of people have been askinig because the operator definitely sounded annoyed lol

So Fendora, you must have caught a lucky break and actually gotten a live person on the phone?

any estimates on how many people applied for the fall class?

if we had a rough idea on how many applied then it would make more sense because theres a ton of offices that haven’t interviewed people on this board. so either they don’t interview or theres a pretty large pool of applicants…i’m going with the latter hahaha. good luck everyone

There was a recent article on politico.com about interns in DC this year. Not specifically the White House, but government interns in general. I don’t know if it was from that, or if I read it somewhere else, but it seems like the number 10,000 sticks out in my head from the summer. That’s a 1% rate of acceptance. If they delay over the weekend again, I say we start playing West Wing trivia. The show or the building. Either way it will help pass the time.

so tomorrows the day?

lol im with np006. Anyone else admiring the work of the official White House photographer? I first noticed when NBC did a segment about him during their White House documentary about a month ago. <<<Off topic but hey, something new to discuss :)

i’ve never even watched the west wing.

this is depressing.
