I have not heard anything regarding the FallVols program. I remember they said today wil be the day that we will get notified. Did any receive a confirmation email?

anyone hear anything?

Anyone heard about the Fall Vols program?

Nope. I guess I didnt get it, unless they are extending their deadline like the white house internship…

i didn’t hear anything today either…

I don’t see any reason to wait until we’re all freaking out to hear a decision before we introduce ourselves. The deadline is three weeks out. Has anyone already turned in their application? Anyone do anything different this time around? First timers?

I stopped looking at this after i got that phone interview from homeland security. I’m not really sure how this happened but i got an internship at the dept. homeland security, they somehow got my application i sent in for the white house internship. it was pretty strange. But i’m just waiting for my security clearance to come through before i can start.

Whose applying for the spring 2010?

Just sent in my application with fifteen minutes to spare.

Hey, I’m new and I have some questions.

How much does experience weigh into their decision? I have interned as a state congressional page in my home state, along with Amnesty International and an environmental nonprofit. Will that help my chances?

Also, how many people apply for the white house internship every year?

Confirmation Emails were sent recently to those who have already submitted by the original deadline date asking for another resend of resumes. As of right now, there were over 400 emails listed on the recipients list… So considering there is still time to apply, there will be a couple more people putting in.

Experience obviously is important, but your recommendaiton letters are the best gauge for the WH to see what kind of person you are. 3 different points of view about who you are can only help them get a better idea of who you are.

I really hate it when they extend the deadline after the fact. I worked hard to get my materials in on time, and then they give everyone another two weeks.

Has anyone received any calls from the WH yet?

No one is going to get any word until mid November.
All that can be done is wait…and hope that since I made first deadline, that I get extra consideration.

Yeah, I realize that decisions aren’t made until November. What I was getting at was whether anyone had been contacted yet for an interview.

I received a notification from the WH today asking for more information (SSN, Birthdate etc). Any other updates for anyone?

I got the same email.

Did either of you get that e-mail during the fall application process?

I think this is the first time they sent these emails. I didnt get it in the fall.

Didi you guys get your application in by the initial deadline or by the extended one?

I applied by the first deadline.

Did anyone NOT receive the email yesterday from the White House requesting more information?
