White Students

There is a black and Indian thread, so we should have one too.

You are right on....thanks!!

to make a post like this as if you let such a thing offend you is funny, in a sad way

I'm not trying to be offensive, I just think that it should be fair for white students to have a thread if black students and Indian students get one.

...isnt that saying it struck a nerve with u

regardless w/e haha i dotn really care that much

so did the black and indian threads start because the white majority struck a nerve with them for just being there?

I don't really understand The Witzness's reasoning. I think it's "sad" that people are so sensitive to racial discrimination that any comment mentioning white exclusivity is immediately condemned.

I agree slipstream. I just think that if certain races are allowed to exclude themselves to compare themselves among each other, then all races including the White Race should be able to.

first off i'm not black or indian, just thought id let that be stated
all i was doing was questioning your motivation for creating the thread
from the tone that i got, which could have been misinterpeted, it was more that you made the thread because you felt excluded/secluded/or partially offended that the other aformentioned threads were made MORE THAN out of true concern what only other white students stats were

I did it out of both. Any stats anyone?

"I don't really understand The Witzness's reasoning. I think it's "sad" that people are so sensitive to racial discrimination that any comment mentioning white exclusivity is immediately condemned."

I agree. But I also think that whites are becoming hypersensitive to things which exclude them, as if they were really interested in the first place. This "white students" thread wasn't started to talk about the ups and down of being the majority and superior (STRICTLY by assertation and not any legitimate means) race. The black and Indian posts sought to address cultural issues, whereas the OP for this thread, as a white student, simply felt threatened byt the other race-specific posts. And that's silly.

No I seriously want to know the educational direction that the white culture is going in.
Anyone?

If you don't like this thread and its posts, then please ignore it.

tetrahedr0n, how did you do on the AIME/AMC? USAMO taker a assume? What about the USAMTS? Round 4 murdered me so bad my children will feel it :( poor kids...

The thing is, and I'm not so sure if that's as true on CC, since a fairly large majority of students is white, usually a white students board includes most students on the board, making other people feel left out.

Personally, I saw this thread more as an attempt (successful or not) at humor than as a response to a perceived threat. Similarly, at my school, we have a Jewish Culture Club, an Arab Student Union, and an Organization for Latin American students -- but if anyone were to start a White Club or a Christian Coalition all hell would break loose. It's all political correctness.

Except of course there isn't a specifically 'white' culture, which one might argue is the purpose of such an organization ... or thread. I don't think this thread was really necessary, but I don't think it is condemnable, either.
