This is basically a post for Indian students (class of 2010) …but hey, everyone’s welcome

I'm applying!!!

me2 (10 characters)

I'm applying! Woot!!

I must add that after a bit of consideration, I'm against this thread; we don't need our own thread just because of our skin color/origin...you tell me who's being more racist/selective/elitist on CC...the whites or the Indians.

well....there is a fulll fledged Indian thread thriving on CC........why do we need this........a lots of ppl applying to upenn frm india ..no worries........

SM

I'm against that full-fledged thread too...I haven't seen a single actul URM group try to make a thread; where's the mexican or the American Indian or even black thread? The only threads I've really seen are sections of Asia threads...i sort of wonder why we need these threads...

We don't. One of the reasons I want to go to Penn is because it is so diverse and I WONT feel I have to group with other indians to fit in.

iv4me, I completely agree; I love the diversity factor; at my HS, we have what seems like a 45% white and a 45% black population while everyone else is just inbetween. It's sort of sad...our black/white population has fluctuated so much recently that our school majority keeps switching

Chill guys, i din start this thread with any segregating interest. Heck the main reason i wanna go to the US and specifically Penn is cuz of the diversity. I just thought it would be useful to be able to keep in touch and help each other out during and after the process of applying

" I just thought it would be useful to be able to keep in touch and help each other out during and after the process of applying"

not to start an arguement or anything, but isn't that the entire purpose of CC? I guess this could be a good way to make Indian friends...if we get in.

Yea, but there would be certain problems specific to Indian students na. Here's one - I'm not applying for financial aid, but i don want my dad to pay the huge sum. Any idea what sort of loans one can get from here?

ah; did you intend for this to be for international Indian students? I'm an Indian, but I live in the states.

everyone's welcome. i'm providing the diversity for the thread :)

YAY!!!

I'm happy now!

lol...the irony! i'm desi at penn, and that was one of the main reasons why i liked the school, too...it's definitely got a ton of indians, but almost sadly, it seems like all the ppl i know outside of my dorm and my class are indian! where's the diversity?! ::confused::

ok, how do you do that one?

edit: (the smiley....er frowny.....er whatever)

: confused :

but without the spaces

brilliant......someone should make a "smiley how-to thread"....but i can't. it confuses me so  :D

Haha, cute 26e. ;)
