For example, I love my Japanese teacher. She's hilarious, is great at teaching us a language we've had zero contact with before high school, and is better than every other teacher at getting the kids who are clearly more interested in drugs to participate.

I love my chemistry teacher. He is pretty strict, but very dedicated. If you are willing to learn, he will be glad to help you. In the beginning of the year, I didn’t understand anything about chemistry. I didn’t want to ask him because I thought he would make fun of me (because he is a very joke-ie teacher). But in reality he will help you till you understand it. Once he helped me the whole lunch hour and he didn’t complain a bit.

And best part, if he hates all the students I hate… :)

lmao^

My favorite teacher is my physics teacher… He’s seriously the nicest guy you will ever meet, and he treats us like we’re actual adults… Plus, he’s super helpful, and he realizes how stressful junior/senior year is for us so he gives us time in class to catch up on work… He’s just really cool, really nice, and an awesome teacher… He always makes physics fun for us…

Plus he lets us play with his Newton’s Cradle. (-:

My chorus teacher and my old civics teacher. I think the main reason I like them is that they both ADORE their jobs … somehow. Every time the kids in my chorus class sing a piece of music correctly, she does this odd happy dance/squeal combination and starts fawning over us and telling us how proud she is. She’s also really hilarious/entertaining and sarcastic. A lot of the girls think shes a bzzadlkf because she can be really offensive if you take her too seriously, but I adore her.

My civics teacher would also get really excited when teaching the class and every day she’d say something like, “I KNOW WE WON’T HAVE CLASS THAT DAY, BUT THE RESULTS OF XXXX CAUCUS ARE COMING OUT THIS WEEKEND (or some other …important… political event), AND IT’S GONNA BE EXCITING, AND . . .”
We also had really good discussions in her class, and she’s really sweet.

Both teachers are in their 20’s, by the way.

My chemistry teacher is really cool too. I went to see her for make-up work during my free period, and she told me a lot of stuff about her, like how she used to always skip class in high school. She did the work and was top of her class… she just had about 15 absences per class each quarter. She also said that even when she took AP Calc, Bio, & Chem, she had a ton of absences in the first two, and none in the third because it was the first high school class she’d ever been interested in.

She teaches AP, honors, and general (general → college → honors → AP) chemistry, and her favorite is AP because she loves seeing kids who’re actually able to think and understand concepts, versus just memorizing and spitting out information. She gets a lot of satisfaction out of knowing and teaching kids who are going to do something amazing with their lives one day, even if it’s not necessarily science-related.
She also likes general classes because, apparently, she teaches her general kids more about “life” than about chemistry, and she’s glad she has the opportunity to save kids from dropping out of school, succumbing to drugs/worthlessness, etc… She actually loses sleep at night worrying about some of her kids.

She’s a bit shy and never divulges this much information about herself during class time, and I’m glad she told me everything she did; my respect for her skyrocketed.

All I know about my Chem teacher is that she was on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and got a 32 on her ACT.

I have lots of cool teachers

Student Gov’t: Teacher is overall the kind of cool friendly teacher that everyone has on facebook-even the ones who don’t take his class.
Biology: Smart, helpful teacher who just lets me do whatever I want since I’m the smartest guy in the class.
Geometry: Smart witty teacher, jokes around with us all the time, and overall really liked.

Here are my 4 favorites. They are 4 of the 6 teachers I’ve had throughout all of high school who I haven’t absolutely loathed. But these three stick out.

First, there was my Seminar World History teacher Freshman year. Seminar is sort of a pre-AP level class above Honors for Underclassmen. We almost never had a complete day of sitting down and hearing lectures (although his lectures were hilarious). We each had to chose a person from history, dress up as them, and give a 10 minute presentation as that person, I was Solomon. We had a full-day medieval banquet, complete with requirements for costumes (didn’t have to be fancy or expensive) and food. We had a king and queen, other royalty, knights, and servers, and I was the Marshall. We visited a Mosque and a Synagogue to learn more about other religions. Besides all the fun things he did, he was just really supportive and funny. Sadly, he was forced to retire at the end of my freshman year. Because he was nearly 70 years old, had been teaching for over 40 years, and was “semi-retired,” he was only teaching half-days. So when budget cuts rolled around he was targeted. As a testament to how excellent a teacher he was, over 1,500 students, parents, former students, and fellow faculty members of this teacher tried to petition the school board to prevent him from being laid off, but sadly it was to no avail. He still gets to share his humor and love of history as a tutor.

Secondly, there is my theatre teacher, who I’ve worked with all 4 years of high school. He’s really been more of a mentor. The theatre program has become like one big family. He is a great, inspired teacher and an amazing director who has made our productions the envy of other high schools in the area. He’s also just hilarious, and pretty understanding.

Junior year for APUSH I had the coolest history teacher ever. Mostly it was the humor he brought to teaching history. He had a joke or a catchphrase for pretty much everything. The class was INCREDIBLY difficult and stressful, but he was a fair grader and he taught the material very well. I was able to get a 5 on the APUSH exam because of him.

Lastly I’ll mention my English teacher, who I’ve had for Seminar English sophomore year and AP Literature this year. She uses class discussion and group-seminar style teaching to make understanding the work a lot easier. She lets us goof off and make jokes a lot, but is always able to bring it back. Both classes were based on essays and presentations rather than just memorizing information, which I loved. For whatever reason, I have never been in any classes where so much intelligent discussion takes place.

My teachers for Speech and Debate and AP Language are the other 2, by the way. But I won’t write any more paragraphs about them.

I LOVED my AP World History teacher, she was very supportive and encouraging to all of her students, and she was there for every single one of us through the 3 student deaths that happened at our school when I had her. I felt absolutely comfortable with her and she never let any of us doubt that she cared about us. Plus, she made lessons fun and increased the passing rate for the AP exam at our school.

I also love my AP US History teacher, he is excellent at teaching the subject, and he is one of the only teachers I’ve had that understands that students have personal lives outside of school and that sometimes it’s hard for us to balance that life and school life. He helps us with work when we need it. Great teacher.

I love(d) all my teachers, but those two were my absolute favorites in high school.

There are few:
- Latin. Seriously the most out there teacher. Half of class is him telling a joke or story. The other half is him doing the same thing in Latin. He also runs the Latin Club, which looks great on transcripts but is actually an excuse to goof off and eat to much.
- AP Euro. For some reason this guy seems to know a million people. Every other day he would have guest speakers. The best one in my opinion was Elie Wiesel who came in and read his book to the class and truthfully answered all our questions. Literally the entire class stayed in for lunch that day.
- Geometry. This is was and is the only math teacher who I felt actually taught me anything. No offense to my other math teachers, but she made everything so clear. I still pretty much see her as my teacher, since I’m in her class nearly everyday getting help with current math classes.

My math teacher and history teacher from last year. They are amazing! One of them- the history teacher is just so amazing words cannot describe him! He’s an older man in his 60’s.He is just oh my goodness- the best! He is funny and has many years of experience-he knows his material very well and knows how I teach! He knows what works and what doesn’t.He understands your personal problems and is very flexible. He is an all around perfect example of a terrific teacher. He is my hero! I love him!

The other, my math teacher from last year is just the best! She is a younger teacher and explains very very well.If you don’t understand something she will make sure you do.She is so funny, nice and easy going. She trusts students and is really easy to talk to.Her class is so easy and so much fun!i love her as well!!

1) My Earth Science teacher. He’s one of the funniest teachers you’ll ever meet. He’s strict at times and has us write copious amounts of notes, but he knows that notes help you even if you never look at them afterwards and how to take advantage of that fact. I also have a 97 average in that class, so it helps.

2)My English teacher. She’s very sweet and also funny. Also strict, but doesn’t require as much note-taking and creates very odd scenarios to demonstrate concepts. She’s also an avid reader, as I presume most/all good English teachers are, and I enjoy discussing books I’ve read recently with her. She’s also very good at giving advice.
