who counts as an international student at columbia

dunno if this is the right forum...but my question is only pertaining to columbia, since I heard every college does this differently

I am in the process of getting my green card, very close, probably two more years....I have lived in the US for ten years legally, have attended elem, middle, and high school here

Do i count as an international student at columbia? i know for financial aid, I will count in the international pool (right?)....but what about academics and admissions? I have heard both ways, but I should be in teh domestic student pool right?

Am i thinking about this the right way or am I totally way off base? please help asap

Green card means permanent residency in the united states right? I am not an American but if you have a green card I think you get the same treatment as a US citizen in terms of "need-blind" admissions.

If you are a Canadian or Mexican you also get treated under the need-blind admission policy.

Anything else means that you are an international and that you don't qualify for need-blind admissions.

Anyways since you don't have a green card right now I don't think you'll qualify for need-blind admissions, unless you satisfy one of the requirements above.
