Who did you put for Stafford Direct Loan References?

Exactly the title :)

Also not asking for names haha, just relationships and whatnot

it could be anyone who knows of you. The purpose is another address to where the feds can send a letter if you don’t make your payments on time.

I would put my parents but they have the same address as me, does that matter?

You know you can bump threads if you need more answers…right?

Two strangers from the telephone book.

Oh I wasn’t sure if I posted that thread on here or another forum…my bad haha.
Anyway sooooo is it ok to put my parents even though we have the same address?

I think the instructions will give you the answer…as I remember, it’s supposed to be someone with another address. Put your aunt, your neighbor, your most hated teacher…

On the print out, which I printed after completing the online MPN, under the references section (item # 7), the print out says that the first reference should be a parent or legal guardian.

Since that direction was not part of the notes/directions listed with the other specifications prior to the reference section, I did not include parent as the first reference.

How do I rectify this error?

If I log back in and use the edit button to change the reference to the parent (same address as the kid), will that be creating a second MPN?

No, there’s only one Master Prommisory Note and the fact that they allow you to edit it would indicate to me that the original note will simply be updated with the new info. I don’t know why they don’t make these field instructions more visible as you’re going along! (Sorry if I gave you bad info…it’s been a year since D did hers and the school doesn’t require a new one every year.)
