To take Math 32B with? And Physics 1B? Even though I think there is only one person teaching Physics 1B next quarter. With these two classes can anyone recommend an easy GE for me to take with them? My current schedule is Math 32A Physics 1A and A&A 10. I foudn my schedule as pretty tough this quarter..

For 32B: Kucherenko or Rogawski
1B: Corbin by a mile.

Easy GEs: we've got a thread on them, but if all else fails, look up the prof on bruinwalk.

With Corbin, I heard he is very easy to understand but his tests are ridiculously difficult? I looked through the easy GE list but I am thinking about doing pre-med, which means all my life science classes are closed, and I can't seem to find any easy Ge's in the other GE sections to balance out my schedule.

I've only heard good things about Corbin. Just make sure his tutorial stuff doesnt' go at the same time as your other classes.

Prof. Corbin is a tough-but-fair Physics 1B professor. You can tell his alma mater was Berkeley with his ~35% medians.

who would you guys recommend for physics 1a?

yea i think his tutorial thing is from 3-430 MW
im gonna have cs32 from 2-4... :[
he apparently gives out previous midterm problems and other good problems in his tutorial thing... which i wont be able to go to...
my schedule is lookin pretty crappy (timing wise) for next quarter too ><

hey zero I'm taking physics 1B with Corbin too, and also CS31 from 2-4, but math with Professor Liu (because I couldn't fit Rogawski in my schedule). So yeah, my schedule sucks too... CS is at the worst possible times!
Have you bought the textbook for 1B yet? The UCLA Store seems to be ripping us off... Does anyone know which book exactly do we need for 1B with Corbin? UCLA Store says "Young (New Low Price) Univ Physics (V 1&2) (Custom) W/ssm & Mastering Ph." Not really sure what that is... I guess its University Physics Volume 1&2, but which edition? And what does "Custom" mean? TIA if anyone knows...

I hope they didn't change the textbook from the Giancoli for your guys. I went to his tutorials quite a bit last year when I had Kushenko for 1B, he says it himself that he'll make you cry on those finals, but he is fair (show up to tutorials though and make sure he knows your name.. ;D). In terms of the physics professors I have had, Kushenko (1A) was an easy grader yet very theoretical (he's a theoretical scientist), Giaoqing Wu (1C) was the best professor I've had (straightforward with everything in class, however easy midterms = you have to do well 81 & 91 means), and Gary Williams was the worst (he was the toughest, very knowledgeable, but exams were tough - also I didn't have the greatest background in kinematics).

hey electrifice that post was over a month old and i ended up changing my schedule a bit... i got cs32 with nachenberg from 10-12, so i'm gonna be able to go to the tutorial things =].
i decided to take weinstein for math 32b (instead of rogawski), so i could have cs32 from 10-12.

AND YEA WOW that book is freaking expensive!!! ($180+) I think since it's both V1 and V2 it has 1A and 1B stuff... and yea Deuces I guess they did change the book... i just checked all the 1A classes for this quarter, and they are using the same "Young (New Low Price) Univ Physics (V 1&2) (Custom) W/ssm & Mastering Ph"
great...

i'd recommend you not to use "z" to pluralize thingz. we're writing at a college level.
