Who else is bittersweet about leaving community college?

haha uh NOT ME.

CC = High School - The Sequel

While I met some very smart kids and made some friends, I’m ready for the big leagues.

However I really do feel my excitement about leaving stems from the fact that I’m moving out finally. My dad made the mistake of suggesting I commute to Davis. My answer was an emphatic no. He would have got a nicer, better thought out answer from this guy

Anywho I’m glad I saved my padres some $$$, and I’m glad I’m moving on.

^the single hairy pec on that pic cracks me up for some reason.

I for sure am bittersweet about leaving Foothill cc. Although I’m confident I’ll love where ever I am this fall, I feel as though I have just begun to really appreciate the school and all its offered to me. I’ve met students in student government that have changed my life forever. We will stay in touch long after we transfer. One of the best days of my life was when I was selected over two other people for a position on the board. I know that sounds stupid but it really was. When I’m Bill Gates ballin’ I will not forget about how this college system gave me a second chance.

Hell no, still sad that I am here… very depressing environment. :frowning: Still have one damn yr left. Cant wait to get out of here!!!

it’ll be over before you know it. Keep your chin up.

My feelings about cc have changed enormously. I was extremely depressed when I knew I had to go, but having gone through everything, I have a new outlook on cc. There are so many intelligent people here and it can really help you get somewhere. Of course, it’s not easy to get over the stigma unless you are forced to live the life, but it’s been a humbling experience!

That said, there are many unmotivated people at cc’s and sometimes it was really hard to stay on track. Feeling like a total loser and being stuck at home while everyone went away, was also difficult!

I’ve met great friends and professors but I’m very happy about leaving :D

am i bittersweet?

nope.

am i sweet?

yup.

I’m not. I heard that bad things are going to happen to CCC in the fall, such as not being able to repeat a class more than once (and my choral professor is fighting to get the performing arts classes to be added to the exception list), courses being cut if they don’t make the number of 22 enrolled students, prices being raised, etc. I want to be out of CC by the time that happens.

I am not a racist. But (foreign) Korean girls at SMC have the most ■■■■■■■■ sense of fashion.

I have had some really good experiences at my community college and took advantage of the opportunities available to me. That said, I’m looking forward to a change of pace/place when I transfer out.

Definitely bittersweet. CCC has treated me really well and the area my CCC is in is absolutely beautiful. People here aren’t exactly Galileos or T.S. Elliot, but they are good people that i’ve come to respect in their own ways.

I lost my sense of entitlement after HS, so I never felt like I was too good for CCC or that I was superior than my peers.

Also, I know that, after CCC, mistakes start hurting twice as much i.e. wasting a semester/quarter costs 10 times as much, a few mistakes on an exam can = C in the class, everything you do really starts mattering for employment, etc.

I’m really looking forward to my years at a UC, but i’ll fondly look back on CCC as the period where I grew up and became a man.

I’ve had a pretty good time at my CC, but I’m not sad to be leaving. Actually, I’m ecstatic that I’ll be leaving this area and that I’ll never have to come back.

Also… you guys are 19+ and your moms still cook for you? Wow. Do they do your laundry too?

yes! i have been at LACC since 2006 for godsakes. i will totally miss it. especially the lack of lines, the easy access to computers on campus, and the class sizes of like 20.

i am assuming i will not be getting these things at ucla ; )

@zeniit i am 26 and a mom of two. i would commit some sort of non-violent offense to have a mom who lived with and/or cooked for me!
