I just checked the notification at 3:00 and I got rejected...gosh..this is my 3rd rejection letter..what a waste of my time to do all that for nothing! Good thing I did not pay a penny for my UC Application Fees or else it would have been a waste of money and time! Gr..im so bummed out now...all my other friends got accepted to UCSD, UC Davis, and UC Santa Barbara! I'm so jealous haha...

I just checked out i got in UCSB. Still waiting for the offer of LA.Don't worry, if SB turns u down, u'll still have UCI, ucla!

reeejected for me

god this was such a waste of money

accepted!!! my top choice school besides UCLA

Congrats to all those who got accepted! Sorry gumby3 about the rejection, I feel your pain. I already got rejected to 3 UCs and I am really bummed out!!

^ What are your stats dude?

did u write a good letter?

I'm hoping for the best for u!

i just got rejected too.
this is my 3rd rejection...
one left to go, UCI...

I feel for you AsianGirl2009 and everyone else who feels left out in acceptance notifications. I felt that way when I found out that I didn't get into UCSD even though a lot of the ppl around me did. I checked UCSB at 2:40ish and results were already out. Fortunately, I got accepted. For those who didn't, there's still more notifications to come. Btw, AsianGirl2009 what's ur stats? If they're pretty good then maybe u could send them an appeal.

lol..my weighted GPA is a 3.5 and UW is a 3.3.
ACT Composite Score is a 17
SAT Subjects are: 480 Math lvl 2, 410 Literature, 390 US History...
I know my stats are incredibly Low...but I have friends who have low ACTs and SAT Scores too and they got accepted...
I have a total of 4 C's from 10-11th grade.
89 Community Service Hours
I think my personal statement essays were bad even though I did spend three months working on them.
I have three 3.5+ GPA Honor Roll Acheivement Awards
1 Union Tribune Academic/Athletic Excellence Award
Joined Women's Tennis for three years(varsity)
Link Crew Club, SCPA Program, Asian & Pacific Islander Club, CSF Club, LIFE Club.
I took 1 Honors, 3 APs in four years of high school.
Why would I write an appeal? I dont have a good reason for them to accept me.
I mean look at my Stats? There incredibly low...
It wasn't surprising to find out that I got rejected...I kinda expected it.
I'm just really bummed out...I already got three UC Rejections in two days!

which other schools did u apply to? Which one was ur "safety" school?

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that! But what other schools did you apply to?? As long as you have a safety or two, you'll do fine! Also, don't rule out community college - that's also a good option. Keep your hopes up, don't think about this too much! But to answer your question, I got accepted today. Hope it doesn't make you feel sadder though. Good luck with your other colleges, and remember don't let this get to you too much. Stay positive! Hopefully you'll still get accepted into other colleges! : ]]

CSU Long Beach-rejected

Woodbury University- waiting

CSU Northridge- accepted

University of Redlands - waiting

CSU San Bernardino-accepted

UC Irvine - waiting

UC Santa Barbara - Rejected

UC Santa Cruz - Rejected

CSU Fullerton - waiting

The only schools that I got accepted are CSU Northridge & San Bernardino, which doesn't even mean anything because its only a state university...there not even hard to get in...UC's are kinda like my safeties..but still...rejections hurt a lot.
I got a total of 4 rejection letters already..jeez. =,(

DO NOT GO TO CSUSB!
it is lame... In high school we toured CSUSB in wind ensemble, that campus will always be in my mind for its lame infrastructure and location.

Listen, even though your stats are low, if u want to appeal make it very passionate.
Something a number wouldn't tell about u (there is so much numbers can tell about someone's personality)

Use that and at least you'll have a chance. UC Irvine may reject u, but if they do, DO WRITE an appeal, make it so bomb and direct that they'll consider u.

For example, u can sue your _____ passion, how you have struggled in high school and have overcome your struggles, and now planning to go to college to expand on this passion and your low numbers won't kill that passion!

What is your passion?

And I feel u! I got rejected to EVERY SINGLE COLLEGE I applied to last year, including 4 UCs, but this year, I'm getting accepted, there is hope!

Ohh...okay but in the acceptance letter that I received from CSUSB..it said that they have the most beautiful and attractive campus in the whole CSU System. lol..

Anyways, I'm not planning to attend there...it wasn't even a consideration.
If I don't get into Woodbury University or University of Redlands, I think I might have to attend CSU Northridge...which I don't want..

I don't know..if I write an appeal to the UCI..I dont think I can make it so convincing.. my writing is very weak..I struggle A LOT in writing...

I mean the UC Personal statements was the hardest essay that I ever wrote. Even though I did spend about three months on it. I read it now...its all crap!! No wonder no UC's accepted me. I think my Personal statement essays killed me!

From my experience the UC essays are only being used to prove aptitude relative to the grades you already have. I really think it was your 4 C's that killed you.

UCSB is a hard school to get into and they hate seeing C's, so i think that's what got you more than anything. I mean the excepted average was a 3.9-4.0 last year (weighted), so you shouldn't have been that surprised about not getting in. Your expectations have to be realistic.

Well, I wasn't surprised at all...the only UC that I was surprise that I got rejected was UCSC since they only a 74% admit rate, which is pretty high. I thought I probably had a chance to get in ....but I got rejected! It said on their login that there was only 24,000 freshmen applicants, which is like half of the applicants from UCSD, UCSB, UCLA or UCB

yeah I thought i'd at least get into UCSC

3.4 GPA
2190 SAT
760 and 740 subject tests

and my low GPA was due to some serious family issues, which i explained in my essays

:(

Accepted to SB and UCI and UCR, but I was rejected to UCD. It just shows it's random.

Based on your scores and GPA, you have chance for UC Merced or Riverside. However, if you don't like it, I would suggest you to go to community college. This way, you can transfer to your dream UC in the future. Although, my daughter got accepted by UCI, UCR, UCD, and UCSD. As her father, I only graduated from a State university. However, I am working as a Senior Engineer for the government. I think your major is more important than the school you go to.

Yeah, you never know. Ive been rejected at ucd, but somehow got into ucsb. I also got rejected from ucsd, which was a given with my stats. And I got into ucr & ucsc, thank goodness. I had like 3 C's though! I guess my A's made up for it?
