ick.
someone should start a related thread for craziest roommate stories...
cuz i don't have bad roommates.
just VERY interesting/crazy stories xD

friend of a friend's hallmate? i suppose? he has a scale in the room for the pot (a big no-no, i think it's a felony and you can get federal jail time for attempting to sell pot, even if you never did...the scale is just hard evidence anyway.)

My friend's roommate rarely showers, steals her medicine, invites people over to talk while my friend is doing hw, and has been really bitter towards her ever since my friend wouldn't let her have a guy spend the week in their room (no guys are allowed in the dorm after midnight/2AM on weekends at my school, this is taken very seriously- at least in the girls' dorms).

My brother's roommate last year was gay and frequently locked my brother out of the room so he could "Just be alone" with his boyfriend.

My roomate isn't terrible, but she isn't great either. When I'm listening to my music, which isn't even that bad (ani difranco, smashing pumpkins, arcade fire, etc), she turns on her korean pop music (basically like a boy band you can't understand) super loudly. That, and she doesn't own headphones. So no matter what I'm doing, she'll be watching asian soap operas at full volume across the room. It's annoying after awhile. Oh, and whenever I come into the room, there's about a 50% chance she'll be there sleeping. I can't even have friends over in the middle of the day, because I walk in to find her sleeping at noon, 3 pm, 7pm, whenever... and then she'll stay up to 3 am.

My friend's roomate is way worse though. Every moment she isn't studying, eating or sleeping, she spends on the phone with her boyfriend or in bed with him (when he's here - it's long distance). She's basically his mother. My friend has heard this girl ask her bf if he has done his homework and if he wants her to talk to his teachers for him. SCARY.

I had 4 room mates, all got drugged up, drunk, and broke everything/kept me up all night/ruined my semester.

I tried to transfer out first semester but they didn't have room and even transferred someone in! One of my room mates stole from me and tried to kill me (randomly because I was the first person he saw when he got the urge). I had to go to court to testify for my roomies (who got caught a lot) and against the one that threatened me.... Adding this all to a tough course load, and I am basically screwed for my first year of college. (yay)

I assume they didn't have headphones because all i could hear was loud music all day and night long. The main tv of the room was always on because at least one was always watching, and when they would leave, the TV would be on still and as loud as before (There is a pattern of loud music in my room, and for some reason my stuff is always too loud at barely audible levels (I listen to rock, they don't), but the 2000 db song blaring on tv is just right). When you are stuck listening to "I MAKE IT RAIN ON DEM HOES" for 5 hours straight, you just want to kill yourself. They left all the doors unlocked throughout the semester, which isn't a good idea. I had to save one of my room mate's friends from choking to death on his own vomit while everyone else was drunk and kicking the friend while laughing as he was choking on the floor.

I was woken up repeatedly and told to leave the room for hours on end so that one of my roomies could "bang a chick". Now when you have a midterm in 4 hours YOU DON'T WANT PEOPLE WAKING YOU UP!!

Finals weren't any better. When they studied I tried my best to keep quiet enough, and since my finals were later in the week than all of theirs, when they finished their finals and began to party until 4 am, I was stuck...

^^ Damn man, that's bad. But they walk all over you and you let them. You could have made the situation better for yourself, but too late now I guess.

Roommate at UW-parkside. Use to have sex on my bed, and leave her condoms on my sheets :-(.

What could I do lol. Fight all 4 of em so they can turn down some music? Not gonna happen without a lot more problems i wouldn't have wanted.

Yea, why not? Because they knew you were not going to do anything, they kept doing the same thing. I understand there are some things you can't do anything about it, but them waking you up in the middle of the night and telling you to leave is just plain ridiculous.

I have a bad roommate story! We were only roommates for 2 weeks though, after which she moved out.

First of all, my floor is a honors program learning community, where 25 people live together and take 2 classes together. We all moved in two days early for a Labor Day orientation. So we got there on a Friday, and that day and Saturday there were a lot of orientation-type activities/ice breakers..well, she decided not go go to any of them. This sucked because in a lot of them we were supposed to pair up and everyone else paired up with their roommate! And mine wasn't there. But that wasn't such a big deal.

The problem came the second weekend. She asked me if I was alright with her having a guest over, and I said it was fine, though I thought it was a little weird to already be having guests over. Anyways, she said it was a "male friend." I was fine with that.

He gets here Friday night...right away I'm uncomfortable with it, he was BIG and had a lot of tattoos, and just looked much older...my friend was over in my room, and the guy said to us, creepily, "How old do you think I am?" And then he says he's 29. 11 years older. Only the more he talked to us, the more it became obvious how immature he was.

But anyway, they went to a frat party. I watched a movie with some friends down the hall...when I got back, my roommate and her boyfriend and a few of her friends were there...this was like 1 am, and her friends were all sitting on my bed. I went on my computer, and was forced to listen to my roommate's boyfriend saying, over and over, "I WANT TO GO TO A FRAT PARTY!" Yes, they were all drunk. Finally around 2 they all left to go somewhere else, and I went to bed.

The next morning, I woke up around 6...looked over, there was my roommate's 30 year old boyfriend sleeping in her bed...and she wasn't there. So I'm all alone in the room with a hung-over 30 year old. Wonderful. Slightly uncomfortable...I just stayed awake, and it was like 20 minutes before my roommate got back. I just left the room for the rest of the day because the whole thing was just really uncomfortable. The next night was pretty much a repeat of Friday night.

Oh, another thing I forgot to mention...earlier in the week we'd talked about alcohol issues..I told her I was really not okay with her bringing it into the room, since I don't drink and really didn't want to get in trouble for her having it. She agreed. But that weekend, they were all drinking in the room both nights!

It was after this weekend that I knew it wasn't going to work out, and she agreed...she'd rather have a roommate who was okay with her getting drunk in the room and bringing a guy almost old enough to be her father over every weekend, I guess. So she moved out the weekend after that. I decided to go home that weekend, because she was having her boyfriend over yet again.

I got back Sunday night and she was all moved out...but the pictures I had on my wall above my bed were all scratched and torn, and my desk was a mess. So that was nice.

I'm just glad I got out of that nightmare situation early.

One of my old roomies threw up on roughly 600 bucks worth of clothing I had on my bed. bia bia.

Anyone on here remember the member ap blue? He had THE WORST roommate I've ever heard of, and commented on here frequently about him, and also had a blog. His roommate built a fort in their room, lit things on fire, and played warcraft 24/7 on a really high volume. I LOVED that blog when I needed a good laugh. Unfortunately, the roommate found the blog or something (the user left a brief, unclear message before disappearing forever) and got mad, so the website got shut down. Very tragic.

^ ahahahahahahah i think i read that as well

My friend had a roomate and apparently she was really gross. Never cleaned up, (including food which started to mold) never did laundry etc. She also sexiled her roommates all the time and never changed her clothes... i think she also attracted roaches into their rooms... ew

My friend's roomate routinly gets out-of-control drunk and pees on her rug. Like, at least once almost every weekend. It's absured.

I think I read ap blue's thing....

Someone on here had a link to a really really bad one. Like... he and his friends would mess around like ap blue's night mare and crap in the sink and stuff and it got to the point where he had to lock himself in his own room and just live out of his room and he never went into the main part of thehouse then one day he went to the main part and all the lights were out and the pet snakes were missing and his blood was everywhere and I dunno... it was really really bad. lmao

In the end he got like 2000 dollars because he sued him for something. I dunno. It was a long and elaborate story!

How do you live in your room and not need to walk through the main room to get there??

It wasn't me. It was a guy who made a website about his awful roommate.

Anyway, he had this elaborate thing...

See, his roomate would steal is stuff (I think this is how he won money. The guy made the roommate sign some sort of contract and... eh its elaborate!), so the guy kept his room locked. He kept the door absolutely airtight shut. And then he had this glass door that led to outside. That's what he used to come and go, but he had to make up some weird little contraption so that it locks because the roommate would try to enter his room and steal his stuff.

I will try to find the website. It was interesting. It made me be greatful for whatever roommate I will get.

I searched. I can't find it. I wonder if anyone remembers what I am talking about. I do not believe anyone can have a worse roommate than this guy!

I think calduger is a wimp. I mean, her roommate was annoying, but that is definitely not bad compared to this story or even compared to what other people said here.

l0l, I agree. I've heard worse than calduger's
