Who here goes to a boarding school???

lol thanks. =]
and they only called once so they probabli forgot about it.

Yeah, I keep getting things from Thacher, but I'm not applying there anymore. I asked my dad if I should tell them, but he said no, that they have so many applicants already, they really won't worry about one that doesn't apply.

im applying to thacher =]
lol. but i also kept getting mail from cambridge school of weston...
like i got 6 postcards telling me to go to their open house.

I liked Thacher intially (it was recomended to me by someone who knows my grandmother and works trying to place kids in prep schools) mostly because my mum and dad liked it (it's so close), and that it was in a rustic location. However, I realized I wanted to be in New England, and with a different style of teaching. And where it snowed. :) Still an excellent school, though.

Khon, I second prettckitty's question for you.

I third her question. :D

I actually did want to hear the answer to it earlier today. Thanks, Msu.

i fourth the question? lol
and pretty kitty~ thats almost the opposite of why i want to apply to thacher.
i live in new york and applying to a school in cali seemed exciting...plus i liked the horse program. lol
its funny we are doing the opposite...kinda. but im also applying to east coast schools.

I've lived in California (part of the time) all of my life, and I really prefer the East Coast. I've spent a lot of time there, because I have a lot of relatives there.

I go to St. Andrew's-Sewanee School, in Sewanee TN. This is my third year and I love it. Exeter, Groton, Andover, all are great schools (I have friends at all of them) but I think schools like SAS are largely overlooked and given poor reputations. SAS is a great school. The teachers are phenominal and you can do anything here if you want to -- you've just got to be willing and strong enough to go for it...things aren't so readily handed to you here, but they can happen. High school in general is tough, but I think boarding is the way to go. Take a look at all of your options, not just the prep-ivies. You'd be suprised at what you might find.

Hey guys, I am new here and Choate '08 and have been at Choate since freshman year (fall '04). I know CTprep and you can count on his info as being the truth. The drug thing is pretty much true, the same as any other school...the majority of people who use drugs at Choate are not the ones you think would...they are mostly the super wealthy kids with waay too much time on their hands and not enough to do.

Hey! Do you know Amelia, too? She was my tour guide.

I love Choate. I'm hoping to be class of '11. ;)

Do you mind if I ask you a few questions, crh? I'll PM you. (private message). I just have to read 200 pages tonight out of Count of Monte Cristo. :o

I do know Amelia, she is really nice. Yah, I don't mind answering any questions, send em over.
