Who is ganna at CC for 3yrs????

Humor is hard to figure out on the intarweb sometimes.

Yah.... I do hav total 6W's....so i guess thats is y im stayin 1 more yr...

Torrancecali, just make sure to take those classes with W's again and do well in them. Show whoever that you can dominate them!

When I laid out the requirements for Stern, Haas, Anderson, Marshall, TAP, IGETC, and CALS...it came out to be three years. :(

niggit42- I am not plannin to take the W classes.....and it is a painful class..
I dont hav to take it rite? it is not require dat i noe ..

Walnut- 3yrs is normal i heard... average.

Yeah 3 years is the average... but do you want to be an "average" student?
A 2.0 GPA is also the average.

2.0 is below average actually i think @_@

but anyways it took me 3 years to transfer, but it was because of poor planning, and i probably would've been able to transfer after two years...just not to the schools i would've hoped for.

i don't regret it because it gave me a chance to raise my gpa and make my application more appealing to more schools. and also some people have other things to worry about (what there's something else besides school?) and that may take them longer to finish up at cc...

It took me 4 years out of high school to transfer, and I will be going to UCLA in the fall.

Bad planning, switching majors, and personal circumstances all helped contribute to me being at CC for so long, but it's done with, and I couldn't be happier with the school I will be attending in the fall. :)

Took me 2.5 years. I also work a lot though.

I just need one more class to transfer to UCLA (calc 2). I did not get in this year because I dropped it. I am going to take the class over the summer. How bad will it look to take the year off before I transfer? I work full time so it is not as if I am doing nothing but still...

A 2.0 is considered "average". "C" students are considered "average" students. A C student means he/she has a 2.0... so I don't know where you are getting your info from.

And as you said in previous posts Sweetny, not graduating in 4 years is no problem right? I disagree with you, but it seem as if you are questioning yourself now about what you said now that you are thinking of transfering in 3 years yourself. Companies look down on people who take 3 years to transfer to a 4 year (unless your major is engineering), so I don't understand people trying to try again for certain schools that they did not get into. Sweetny, you got into UCSD and UCI right? Why not just go there? I don't see the point in wasting a whole year to just take 1 stupid class. Way too much oppertunity cost.

Colin, you are way to aggressive. I don't believe there is a problem in graduating a year later. My concern is that it is a gap year. I don't need it to take more classes. Since I already work for a fortune 500 in finance I am not too worried about finding work. I actually got into UCSD and UIUC (not uci) for economics and accounting but I have a very good house and career in LA that I do not want to leave. My situation is not typical so I can understand your confusion.

I would appreciate responses from people who have actually a) done some research or b) have first hand exp. Thanks!

let me put it this way colin387, would YOU consider yourself to be average if you got a 2.0?

lol... no body will think they r average student if they hav cumulative 2.0 GPA...... even 3.0 doesnt sound that great...

Took me only 2 years, with careful planning.
I could've stayed at the CC for 3 years but hell no. I can't stand being at a CC for another year. So ever since fall 2005 I have been taking winter and summer classes non stop at every session.

I need a break!

Though I do understand that sometimes odd situations occur and some people may have to stay at a CC for more than 3 years. Such as major change, etc.

This one girl in my bio class is going to have to stay at the CC for her 5th year, because she "missed the deadline to turn in applications".

I sometimes cannot believe how anyone can forget/be so irresponsible when it comes to turning in your university applications.

torrancecali, please clean up the English just a tad. No "r" for "are" and such.

UCLAri, I just got use to it. lol

The majority of the engineers I know are going to take 3 years to transfer. Also, many biology majors seem to take this long. I have a feeling these are the main majors where a student can take 3 years while going full time to school. I will be taking 2 years and a quarter. Fortunately UCLA takes winter quarter applications for engineering. If I do not get in I will be another engineer who takes 3 years to transfer.

yah, like science/engineer majors usually take longer time. approx 3yrs... 2yrs is way to hard. I am pre-dental/soc major. so it is taking longer..
