Philippines and maybe some other part of SE Asia if I'm lucky.

I'm going to Spain for about five to six weeks, hopefully with a full scholarship. fingers crossed

hopefully London or Canada through STA Travel...that's if I ever get my damn job back...that place is trying to ruin my summer...

JakeR... what's the ridiculous part?..
I guess my vacation post might have come across as obnoxious, but I didn't mean that. I was trying to be self deprecating...

Hehehe congragulations... :D

wow! so many people here are going on overseas trips.

I'm not in the level of society that can use "summer" as a verb, but THIS summer ('06) I'm going to Australia for a month or so.

me = completely stoked.

Hoping to go to Portugal to start my year of study abroad:)

45 days in Europe, plane tickets there and plane tickets back. I'm going with some friends, and we have no idea what were doing. One day we might be in Germany essen am eine deustchland mcdonalds, or we might be watching a soccer game over in England. Who knows, it's just going to be a ton of fun.

lol sort of the same as kinglin but less time.... then hungary with the rents, honduras with a big group, then spending my gap year somewhere, everywehere...... i'm major pumped

Nowhere this year...I'm sick of seeing the rest of the world. Every summer for the past few years it has been Europe, Africa, Asia, or Hawaii (ok, I know that it is part of the US). I've been to plenty of countries but have never been to Florida! Or California! I need to see the USA outside of the east coast!

I hear that there is this magical city in California with a great red bridge. And that this company Starbucks (anyone ever heard of them?) has its headquarters in a place called See-attle. That's in Washington. Yes, I almost didn't believe it myself until I looked at a map, but there IS a Washington other than DC! And did you all know that there is supposed to be a great salty lake, with a city named after it? That's out west too.

Anyways, that last paragraph was pretty sarcastic, but hopefully you all get my drift. I'm so deprived...

love that last post.
i agree too, my first trip was to london and south(ern) africa.... when i was six. i don't even think i'd been out of the tristate area then.

How was South Africa? I have heard mixed things about it- beautiful place to visit I hear, but a lot of crime there too. What were your opinions on it? (This question is open to anyone who has been there).

gorgeous, my 11 year old memories seem to remember...
i saw the big five (wild game), lions eating gazelles, and some of the nicest people
i also saw homeless kids my age and men and women without fingers.
i went with my parents who worked in world bank/international developement. probably my best summer vacation, i want to go back so badly. we went to zimbabwe, malawi, and botswana too. the poverty/class contrast is soo shocking.

I'm spending a few weeks in SE Asia.

Well I live overseas, so I guess its a bit different.

I'm going to Greece in June for our senior end of year trip. Then I'll be heading out of the country to go to America. We're renting a beach house for July and August in the Outer Banks in NC right before I head off to college. It should be awesome.

im going to india for the summer and travel around gujarat.. its gonna be burning hot i dunno if i can handle it but we'll see..
