I’m kidding, lol.

Um, so…midnight will soon be upon us. Have you decided yet, @AnthroFlo? You said you’d do so today.

Oh great, my dumb ass accidentally submitted a SIR to UCSC. I already emailed them and told them I wanted to retract my SIR

@CollegeDropout1 lol

All of my wat

@CollegeDropout1 I’m sorry if you are really having second thoughts I know its not easy.

@Cayton, I submitted all my paperwork for Berkeley yesterday and told people that was were I was going, but I’m not gonna lie, I have a strong feeling inside of me that says that is wrong. I guess my original desire to go to UCLA never left. I was once told by someone close to me why I tried to hard to convince myself to go to Berkeley when my heart really wanted LA… I guess I felt too afraid to let down all the people who wanted me to go to Cal (everyone). I hate this feeling of anxiety, guilt, and regret.

AnthroFlo, my professor went to UCB for undergrad and then went to UTK which is the number one program for forensic anthro in the nation. She always talks about her amazing experience there at Cal and how close she was able to get to the professors. Even to a professor by the name of Tim White who she especially knew. I am not a huge fan of anthro or anything, but she made it seem like he is a big time thing. Sorry to hear about all the guilt and such, but I am sure you made a great decision.

@AnthroFlo - Don’t spend any time on regret. Move forward thinking about all that awaits you at Cal. Whatever could have happened at UCLA is no longer your reality. You can’t follow your passion while looking in the rear view mirror.

@AnthroFlo

Go to Berkeley/UCLA because you want to, not because other people do.

I’m sure you’ll enjoy Berkeley, though.

I went with my gut and against what 99% of people told me to do because I’m the one going to college, and it’s my decision, not all of theirs.

Go with your gut, and who cares what people think, honestly. You need to decide what is best for you, not other people’s opinions.

@CSB111
Wise words.
Personally, I’ve worked with a lot of wonderful people during my time at CC and they all see a lot of potential in me and want me to go to Cal, as do many others. This might seem like a stupid question, but, do you feel bad that you let people down by not going to Cal?

Not really. If people really care about you they will support wherever you go.

The only feeling I have is I maybe gave up a different academic opportunity and a chance to go somewhere new, but at the same time, UCLA is a different experience as well.

Trust me, if you work hard, the difference you think there is will be non existent.

@CSB111 well said.
