Who is still deciding between UCLA and Cal?

On second thought, no body SIR two schools. It is unfair to the students on the waitlist, think of others.

@randombookie, @ocnative, @Cayton, @CollegeDropout1, and many others…

I’m really going to miss you guys :frowning:
It’s crazy how awesomely supportive everyone on here has been, esp. once I started to go off the deep end and into insanity because of my indecision. You guys are all awesome!

@AnthroFlo, of course! I’m going to miss you too:)

did u ultimately decide?

@randombookie, honestly, no.
I think I may have realized far too late that UCLA, even though it doesn’t make as much sense academically/geographically/anything else really, might have been better for me than Cal. But if you come join me at Cal, maybe we can chill :)

@AnthroFlo‌

I am actually not sure…lol. If you can’t attend CalSo, they have a make-up CalSo day before classes start. That is if you have chosen Berkeley (yay!)

@randombookie‌

Oh no! I really hope you make your choice (even though you sent your SIR already to LA). Just go where you’ll really enjoy yourself…you have two hours :slight_smile:

@ocnative, thank you. did you automatically know you wanted to go to Cal.

@ocnative‌
But if you don’t choose to attend Cal and you don’t go to CalSo, are you going to pay still?

When do we sign up for orientation at UCLA

@CollegeDropout1, June 5th. I got a phone call from UCLA about it

Sign-ups start on June 5th, 3:00 PM, @CollegeDropout1‌

You’ll have to complete your ed planner first, though.

@CollegeDropout1
I believe that happens in a few days (don’t quote me, but I want to say its the 5th?).

@randombookie‌

For awhile I did…but after I sent my SIR to Cal I started to have second thoughts and did more research on UCLA. I was very 50/50 and UCLA started to look very appealing to me. I was conflicted in mid-May but I loved the idea of attending Cal more.

@AnthroFlo‌
I don’t think so. That would be weird :stuck_out_tongue:

@Cayton Did you already do your Education Plan? It doesn’t show up for me.

@CSB111‌

No. Don’t even know where to find it lol

@AnthroFlo: I think you are in EOP program because your net cost is similar to mine. If so, look for the Berkeley co-ops if you want to save money. You have to choose off-campus for financial purpose though. With this option, you can save up 3-4k a year since co-op housing plus meal plan only costs $6k7 per year. Students in EOP have priority housing placement.

@zudrak‌
Seriously? Priority housing? Nice :smiley:
Honestly, from the information I have gathered, the co-ops might not be the best place for me; however, I will inspect my finances and see what will be more beneficial.
Personally, I am really keen on a quiet environment.

I am going to dig into housing options later because I have an 8 a.m. final tomorrow that I didn’t study for.

@AnthroFlo Good luck on your final. If you prefer quiet environment, try requesting Hoyt (women only) or small houses because they only have 17-29 students. These houses are hard to get into because of the housing placement. Most people get into large houses like CZ and Cloyne, which are known for partying and such.

Great, now I am starting to have second thoughts. I thought Santa Cruz was a great fit for me.

There is always Cal State Bakersfield…

@CSB111 Why there? I heard Bakersfield is the armpit of California.
