who is it?

Stephen Hawking

Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Tough to decide. There's so many good choices.

Well it's me, ofcourse

Joseph Ratzinger. And I'm not just saying that because he became the new Pope. Aside from maybe Henri de Lubac and Hans Urs von Balthasar, he is probably the greatest academic theologian that the Church has seen in the last 300 years.

What do you define as "our time"?

Without giving it a great deal of thought, I'll choose a few of my favorite intellectuals that are still alive: Richard Dawkins, Thomas Sowell, Gary Becker, and Robert Greene.

Good call on Sowell. That man is a genius.

Me

i saw this thread and was going to say me but too many people already said that...soo..my dog

I second Stephen Hawking.

Stephen Hawking? Uh, I believe the OP said "from our time"

Susan Sontag. Hands down.

Besides, she was relatively fashionable.

I saw it on a college application. Not sure what they mean by "our time"

I'm not sure what you meant by that...Stephen Hawking is from "our time". He's alive now and still doing research.

^ I think they meant it as a joke . . .

^ ah...perhaps. It's hard to tell in text.

Terence Tao

^_________^

ummm... I believe you guys are missing the genius who resides in the White House - our beloved President :)
