Last year, people said FedEx was good news and USPS was bad. Hopefully it’s the same; Congrats!

It sounded like last year they FedExed the invites and sent notices to those not invited by USPS.

Thanks everyone!

I just got my finalist letter through FedEx!

The FedEx guy made it up our icy road about an hour ago, but had a package for my uncle :frowning: not one for me. i couldn’t even believe he came up our road. I was so hopeful.

What states are the ones who received Fedex from??

Tennessee

Colorado

Got a USPS envelope :frowning:

"I write to express the appreciation of all of here at Washington and Lee for your interest in our Johnson Scholarship Program. However, I regret to inform you that we are unable to include you among those students selected as finalists in this year’s competition. With nearly 3,000 students submitting applications for a limited number of awards, the scholarship committee faced quite a challenge in narrowing down our list of finalists. Our decision in your case does not in any way reflect a lack of confidence in your ability to contribute to the University community, rather, it reflects the unusually high degree of competition for the scholarships to be awarded this year.

Please be assured that this decision will in no way affect the consideration of your application for admission, nor your status in the Financial Aid Department decisions concerning need-based aid."

etc. etc. etc. Unless there is some serious flexibility with their need-based aid, I’m going to have to move on. I’ve got some other great options and invites to some other merit-based competitions, but this one really would have been ideal. I’m not sure I belong on an 80% greek campus. I’m sure I’ll end up wherever I’m supposed to be.

Congrats to those who got the FedEx package  It looks like the USPS did a good job of getting the thin envelopes out in the same amount of time as FedEx delivered the thick ones.

I got a finalist letter! I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the fedex truck. :open_mouth: I’m in Arizona.

Still anxiously waiting on a decision in South Carolina… it’s looking less and less likely

Right there with you, Yarbrough. Not gonna lie, I’m pretty disappointed. I really wanted this.

Still nothing Chicago. Feeling less hopeful after previous posters said they had 3000 applicants. I’m sure everyone is brilliant and worthy. Tough competition.!!! Plus, my sons essay was very atypical ( he wrote about rap music and Kid Cudi) yikes

Anyone who got a letter willing to share their basic stats. . .just curious

Are all FedEx mails suppose to arrive by today?
If I didn’t hear until now, should I just be expecting a USPS mail? ):

It only looks like three people posted a yes. My I guess is most will arrive tomorrow. . .i hope

I really hope so! Does FedEx deliver on Saturdays?

I’m surprised I got neither today and I live in northern virginia, only 3 hours from Lexington. But I assume that means no FedEx here.
