Who Is Your Favorite and Least Favorite United States President?

You can just give your favorite and least favorite US president and if you have time, then you could explain why they are your favorite and least US presidents. FOR LEAST FAVORITE PLEASE DO NOT USE A PRESIDENT WHO WAS ASSASSINATED OR DIED NEAR ELECTION DATE. My favorite president is FDR.

Reasons:
WAR PRESIDENT (YES!!!)
NEW DEAL (YES!!)
CHARMING PERSONALITY
FIRESIDE CHATS
ELECTED AND SERVED MORE THAN TWO TERMS (4 and 3, respectively)
HE WASN'T HOOVER (This is supposed to be a joke--you know, how everyone hated Hoover?)
ALL PRESIDENTS AFTER WILSON TO HIM WERE LAME-DUCK, SO HIS REFORM MOVEMENTS WERE VERY POWERFUL
HIS CAPTIVATING AND SUAVE VOICE

My second choice would be Abraham Lincoln.
My least favorite president would be Andrew Jackson. He couldn't get rid off those Radical Republicans and rebuked many of Lincoln's laws.

Favorite: BENJAMIN HARRISON

 • Kewl beard
 • Sherman Antitrust act?
 • Sherman Silver purchase act? - one of those two I think
 • Liberal Republican, back when the parties were normal
 • From Indiana

Least Favorite is Reagan. His economic plan gained quick support, but soon resulted in debt which has since been blamed on high spending Democrats. He is also quoted like gospel despite being kind of lame as a president, and he was an actor before he entered politics. When Miley Cyrus is president, I’m becoming a communist.

^ I believe that that’s Andrew Johnson

I hate Andrew Jackson. Not only did he destroy the US bank but he blatantly ignored a court order, subsequently allowing the Cherokee to be uprooted from their home in a cruel and unusual manner. And let’s not forget the spoils system! He was a dick.

Favorite - Clinton
He smoked weed.

Least - Lincoln
I dislike his hat.

You mean Andrew Johnson? Andrew Jackson was before Lincoln and is my favorite president.

Jackson is the most bad@ss president. He was in anywhere between thirteen and over one hundred duels, never losing. The Secret Service once had to pull him off his assassin to save the assassin’s life. He was the commanding officer at the Battle of New Orleans, which might as well be called the massacre of New Orleans. His word alone was enough to end the tariff crisis of 1828. He single handedly crushed the national bank. He was the first true president of the people.

One last anecdote that manifests everything that is Andrew Jackson. Shortly after dying, one of the people standing around his bed asked if Mr. Jackson would go to heaven. Another person responded, “That depends if Mr. Jackson wants to go to heaven.”

(Yes I realize he did many horrible things. I don’t think he was the BEST president, but he is my favorite for those reasons. Best would be one of the Roosevelts, either one).

LEAST favorite would probably be W, just because I’m so familiar with all the dumb thing he and his administration did. Other than him, Johnson was pretty bad.

Favorite: Teddy Roosevelt

Even though he was a bear-killer, elephant-killer, and killer of all sorts of cute animals.

Least: GW Bush

Although GW Bush does generate lots of lulz. And he made me agree with (almost) everyone (I talk to) on something. And Bush-bashing was always good entertainment. For those I miss Bush.

That didn’t really mean anything until Teddy Roosevelt though, so I don’t really think he deserves that much credit for it.

I also want to give a shout out to Lincoln. He handled the situation given to him almost perfectly to hold the Union together.

Oh, I forgot about Bush.
Switch out Lincoln and stick in Bush.

Your choice of Lincoln had nothing to do with his policy?

Favorite is Ronald Reagan, to be honest all the President needs to be is an actor who knows how to deligate.

Least Favorite: Woodrow Wilson, not too many wars before he put the US in WWI a lot of 'em afterwards…

Calvin Coolidge was the worst president because in many respects, the Great Depression was his fault. Plus he looked mean.

I personally think Wilson was one of the better presidents. He oversaw a very progressive administration that led to a lot of positive reform. I’ll be honest, I can’t think of anything good that came out of WWI (the biggest cluster**** in history) but he was sort of in a position where we HAD to go to war (although his policy somewhat led to that). WWI did allow the US to emerge as a major military power in the world, which ended up being a good thing 20 years later.

Calvin Coolidge was mean. Hist nickname was Silent Cal. My favorite story about him was that he was having dinner and someone joked that they would get him to say more than two words, to which he responded “You lose.”

^ His policies led to WWI. Since then we’d been in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, 1st Gulf War, 2nd Gulf War. Of those WWII is the only one which can be described as “good” war.

And I dislike the progrssive movement, I’m a libertarian and I really don’t feel like arguing politics so I’ll just leave it at that.

Andrew Jackson - awesome, original gangster, and my hero

I’m not gonna lie- I dislike most presidents. I hate most of the history of this country though. We’re TERRIBLE.

I liked Clinton though. Easily my favorite.

I wouldn’t say WWI led to all those other wars. WWII was probably more of a cause of the other wars than anything else, and Wilson can’t be blamed for WWII.

we dont want to hear your hippy nonsense.

lol jk

^^ No but before WWI the US was isolationist. WWI didn’t cause the wars but it did cause the mentality of the an America that will go to war in cases where it is not explicitly attacked.

Favorite: Calvin Coolidge Not really sure what he did. But he helped me remember the word taciturn. “Calvin Coolidge nicknamed ‘Silent Cal’ could be characterized as taciturn” Quiet guys are pretty cool imo.

Least: George Washington. Because he’s the first president I had to learn about. And then initiated the monotony that is American History.

Not necessarily. Spanish American War? Mexican American War? The US has a history of unprovoked military involvement in Latin America (especially in the 30 years before WWI) that would also say that the US was not isolationist.

I would put the US’s role in the world on FDR much more than Wilson. The US actively tried to stay out of WWII, but FDR’s actions were similar to Wilson’s, and led to the US entering WWII.
