I am a U.S. citizen and am considering going back to school (university) in Canada after I have not been in college (university) for over 20 years. Due to some mix-ups with my transcripts, I didn't want to go through the trouble of trying to clear that up through the school I attended. I once tried to go back to university and that was when I discovered the problem with the transcript. The thing is, I only completed 1 semesters and don't think it is worth the trouble of transferring anyway and the cost of having to get an attorney to clear up the mix-up.

This is my specific question: does anyone know if I could just take an admissions test to enroll as a new freshman as an international student or resident student? I once heard that Canada had a compulsory admission policy for what we call here in the states "non-traditional student" (a nice term for old people). I once heard this policy was for students over 35 or 40. Is this true or was I once misinformed?
