it's a combination of mystery+humor, which i didn't find possible until now...haha</p>
<p>so what is it exactly called? what Monk has? you know, HAVING to have everything perfect, etc.</p>

<p>It's called OCD- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. I believe the fact that he's a germaphobe is also a seperate disorder that just makes him for lovable.</p>
<p>I used to watch it all the time...then Sharona left. And I don't like the new girl as much.</p>
<p>haha i dont even know who sharona is yet...:) one has short blonde hair and she looks nice, and the second one looks kinda...um...wild? i don't know. but adrian monk is the best!!!! the third episode i ever saw, he got rid of OCD by taking these pills, and he would call him self 'the monk', but he got carried away and got too careless...hahah it was hilarious.</p>
<p>I've been watching since the first season, its pretty funny. He has OCD and like 300 other problems (ie. heights, rats, snakes, milk, etc.) His acting is really quite impressive, but the crimes could be more realistic but never mind that its a good show to laugh</p>

<p>Monk does get old quick, but Law and Order: CI and Law and Order:SVU are better and more interesting...gotta love Detective Goron..</p>

<p>There are some good Law and Orders, especially SVU, but then again there are some pretty weird episodes with strange stories.</p>

<p>i wasss horrified by the rolling stones they are terrible. goshhh at this age they really should not be the premier act for the half time showww it wasss disappointing and thats a euphanism trust me.</p>

<p>only SVU. they cop out of good actors because the hook is sex crimes. the original is great. and more interesting than monk. i agree with the person who said monk is great for a while but gets old quick.</p>
<p>i love monk, i saw the marathon yesterday. However, I do love law and order, both CI and SVU more. I agree that Goren is basically a ****ing genius. That fool's my idol. After Eric Cartman.</p>

<p>i like monk, but i definitely think law and order: svu is better. my cousin forced me to watch it the first time and now i'm completely addicted. i love all the detectives and their personalities, especially munch and his cynical humor. unlike eames on criminal intent, they never annoy me! some of the issues addressed on the show are really interesting - like the one (can't remember the name) where a mother and father were charged for killing their infant daughter who was suffering from tay-sachs. i always get caught up in the ethical/moral dilemmas - it makes the show more realistic.</p>

Monk is a great show and I have to agree with the above poster that SUV does bring up real ethical dilemmas that relate to our society.</p>
