<p>Nah, UCSC is a nice school w/ a great location and campus, but I'd be lying if I said it was anything more than a safety (I've been accepted to UCD, UCSB, and UCSD as well) but I know that UCSC would have been enjoyable.</p>

<p>Probably not, only because it's so far from where I live now. The representative who came to my school last year made UCSC sound so appealing and welcoming, and that's the only reason why I applied (aside from the fact that it's pretty easy to get into). I've seen pictures and it looks beautiful with a great combination of coastal and forest scenery. Academics aren't too bad either and I love the variety in their bio courses. If I lived in norcal, UCSC would have been my top choice, but since I don't, it's off to UCI with me.</p>
<p>jess067: being far away from home helps you grow as a person. i learned to budget my money, do my own laundry, plan for meals when the dining halls are closed, or just be responsible for myself in general. i don't have parents to fall back on way up here. basically, you're forced to mature and take responsibility for your own life.</p>

<p>I got accepted to all the UC schools excpet UCLA and I must say that UCSC is really pretty.....on par with UCDavis as the most beautiful campus in the UC system....</p>
<p>UCSC has a lot of redwoods, trees, and log cabins along with good air and mountain like environment....</p>
<p>I've also made my decision, finally, and it looks like I'm going here next year :) I live about an hour away.</p>

<p>im going, do guys know how hard it is to keep a 3.5+ at UCSC. Next year im goin to take courses required for bioengineering like chem and calculus based physics.</p>
