Who should do q-drops?

Hello, So my situation is: I had a bad score on the first mid-term exam, which won’t make the class grade A(hardly B) eventually. (And this course is required going through my major).

I am considering q-drop, and on the school website it says that q-drops are for students with “non-academic issues”. Should I clearly say “I am q-dropping this class because I have bad grade” or is it just people making excuse for dropping a low-grade class?

Can you provide the link to where it says that about Q drops? That is news to me.

Tuesday Last day an undergraduate student may, with the dean’s approval, withdraw from the University or drop a class except for urgent and substantiated, nonacademic reasons.

That means you can Q drop for academic reasons until the 1st.
