I am supposed to interview someone who works a position in a field I am interested in working in.I am going for a BS
Finance. Being the first member in my family to attend college, I am still trying to get adjusted to college life. Since I moved to a place far from my hometown and where everything is new to me, I am having trouble making connections outside of school. The interview does not have to be in person. Any suggestions? right now Im thinking of a financial advisor, but how can I contact an advisor. Any other suggestions to who to interview? thank you
What’s your dream job? Where would you like to be working in 15 years? You say finance, so, what? Wall Street? Do you see yourself working for one of the Big 4 Companies?
Why not shoot out a couple of emails to people who have your dream job? With the internet, there’s no reason not to dream big. Explain the assignment, and ask whether someone would be kind enough to be available for a Skype interview.
You may be surprised-- and could even land a mentor/valuable contact.
You have nothing to lose by trying.
What field are you interested in? What is the scope of the questions you will be asking? Do you have free reign or is it supposed to be focused on their personal life, career, their expectations of where they will be, how they reflect on their college life, etc.?
